Allen Fieldhouse is nice but thought Cameron and Butlers Hinkle were better. Rupp is right there also .
Hinkle is my favorite...I've called many games there----mostly HS, i.e. Regional/Semi-State rounds. You get 15,000+ int here for HS games, and thats nuts(tourney games). IHSAA played the State Finals there for years....But folks got tired of Indy schools getting to play sectional, regional, semi-state, then State title games on the same floor. PLus the tourney simply outgrew Hinkle.Allen Fieldhouse is nice but thought Cameron and Butlers Hinkle were better. Rupp is right there also .
I think this is an entirely different argument than most people are having, but looking at the original question, it might be one of the better answers.Haven't been to every place but Rupp is terrible. It's not even a top 2 venue in the state for basketball. Good to go once to check it off but other than that? Meh. I'd say most older arenas are like that.

As far as the building itself, I would agree, Rupp needs a lot of updates. If we are strictly talking gameday atmosphere, I would put Rupp against anyone for big/rival games.
The Yum! Center is very nice, actually my favorite place in the world to watch a concert from.Yeah I'm talking more how dated the place is. From a bucket list perspective you absolutely should go see a big game there. And it stacks up well against the best in that perspective.
Just a shame they'll never get a new arena because of the disgusting Yum center stuff (which is a wonderful arena if you can stomach watching UL play).
Agree with this wholeheartedly. I'm not a Kansas fan per se, but have been to a handful of games there and it's special like Lambeau is special for football.Probably Kansas.
Agreed. Was there for the 2004 B1G Men's tournament. Not a bad seat in the house. Indy is a great city for events, easy to get around, plenty of places to eat/stop in walking distance, etc.Bankers Life Field House is a great venue.
Probably Kansas.
Some people have little respect for history. The last thing I would want is for Allen to be torn down and replaced by a modern monstrosity.
Trailer.
Good take, wee man.
You haven’t seen shit, wee man. 🤣I have seen better high school gyms
