Best Venue/Gym in CBB

Allen Fieldhouse is nice but thought Cameron and Butlers Hinkle were better. Rupp is right there also .
Hinkle is my favorite...I've called many games there----mostly HS, i.e. Regional/Semi-State rounds. You get 15,000+ int here for HS games, and thats nuts(tourney games). IHSAA played the State Finals there for years....But folks got tired of Indy schools getting to play sectional, regional, semi-state, then State title games on the same floor. PLus the tourney simply outgrew Hinkle.

Haven't been to every place but Rupp is terrible. It's not even a top 2 venue in the state for basketball. Good to go once to check it off but other than that? Meh. I'd say most older arenas are like that.

I think this is an entirely different argument than most people are having, but looking at the original question, it might be one of the better answers.

As far as the building itself, I would agree, Rupp needs a lot of updates. If we are strictly talking gameday atmosphere, I would put Rupp against anyone for big/rival games.

I think some UK fans tend to watch/study the game before cheering. Then when something happens or it gets interesting the fandom comes out and becomes loud af. We do have an older crowd, it will always be this way.

Yeah I'm talking more how dated the place is. From a bucket list perspective you absolutely should go see a big game there. And it stacks up well against the best in that perspective.

Just a shame they'll never get a new arena because of the disgusting Yum center stuff (which is a wonderful arena if you can stomach watching UL play).

Never been to Paul Quinn either but hear it's spectacular. Anyone been ?

The Yum! Center is very nice, actually my favorite place in the world to watch a concert from.

Some people have little respect for history. The last thing I would want is for Allen to be torn down and replaced by a modern monstrosity.

Probably Kansas.

this is for me. That place feels like a time machine when you walk in and you get goosebumps. I’ve been there maybe 20 times and it’s still awesomely creepy and historic every time.

My now wife took me to my first game there against missouri in 2002 or so when Roy had gooden, collision and Heinrich. I thought my eardrums were damaged because they were ringing so long after the game ended.

It’s one of the greatest home field/court advantages in all of sports.
