Are we sure Flagg is the best or even second best freshman?

Harper and Bailey at Rutgers might have something to say about that.

All three of them are amazing. I’m assuming they’ll go 1-2-3 in the draft.

Flagg is really good. I want to see the Rutgers guys and haven't yet. Flagg never really looked as good as he was hyped IMO but that isn't his fault. So many of the recruiting guys made it out like he was some generational talent instead of just really good, which he is.

Bailey has freak athleticism and nasty midrange game. He might have the most upside of anyone college basketball.

His versatility is off the charts. But, he needs to improve his perimeter shooting and tighten his handle a bit. A little too careless with the ball at times. Gotta remember that he's still only 17. He'll get better. Some compare his game to Andrei Kirilenko... with a better offense.

As an offensive weapon, I like Dylan Harper better. He can score anywhere on the court at will. It's a lot easier to envision Harper scoring 25+ ppg in the NBA than Flagg. Bailey is also very intriguing. He seems like he can go off for 20 points in a half, if it were needed. He's a good shooter and he can simply rise up and shoot over his defenders. It'll be interesting to see how he handles taller more athletic defenders in the NBA, as he'll obviously need to create more separation. But he's oozing with potential.

Honestly, this freshmen class is really, really good. Best one we've had since at least the 2017-18 season. Illinois probably has the best trio of freshmen in the country. Duke's trio probably goes a bit higher in the draft. Can't forget about Tre Johnson. That guy can get buckets. Oklahoma's Jeremiah Fears is putting up really solid numbers is going relatively unnoticed.

I still think Flagg has the highest ceiling, but he's not head and shoulders above his peers. Harper is the closest. And a dark horse candidate could be BYU's Egor Demin. He's a bit too unselfish at times, but this kid can ball. 6'9 point guard that can shoot and throw some absolute dimes. Check out this pass last night.
