5 teams in 2018-2019 season you are most intrigued by

What a homer statement. Haarms would start for IU as you don’t have a center. You also don’t have a projected starter over Green at point and I can assure you that Nojel is better defensively than anyone on your team.
Again wrong. Fitzner and Davis are centers but Morgan is likely to start. Dont think Haarms would start for us. As for Eastern, not sure a guy who is a terrible shooter with an average A/T ratio is what we need. At this point I’d gladly stick with Green and Durham over Eastern.

Clone would start as well. You have no deep threats. You’re just being a homer now.
Oh, so now you’re saying Cline would start over Romeo? Now you’re just being dumb. Not a chance in hell Cline starts.

Must suck for you knowing IU is going to have a better year than Purdue.

Cline plays the 3 not the 2.
I am not at all upset about the upcoming season. IU May finish ahead of Purdue, but I don’t see any evidence that this will be true.

Riding the bench on a 16 win team is usually less encouraging than riding the bench on a 30 win team.
Why? Its not as if Cline, Haarms, Eastern, etc, etc...were 4/5* buried behind some elite talent. None of the three start at IU last year; just like none of the 3 from IU, would've started at Purdue.

I was thinking Purdue would probably finish in the top 4 or 5. I'm shocked to see the latest predictors having Purdue picked 3rd. I mean I guess it's possible, but I'm just surprised.

I've got Purdue 6th. They have one of if not the hardest Big Ten schedule. They only play the gimme teams (Rutgers, Illinois, and Northwestern) 1 time each.

Couple that with loss of talent, and 6th seems about right.

I'd be disappointed if they finished that low.

I'm not even saying it would be their fault necessarily. You guys just didnt get a favorable schedule this year.
If I'm not mistaken, we've had harder schedules than the other top 5 teams in conference the last few years. Not toughest, but tougher.

I expect better(trolling) from you, Hail. Bad attempt.

It’s not even trolling. It’s common sense. If you can’t start for a bad team then you probably weren’t very good. If you can’t start for a good team you might not be very good or the team might just be too good for you to start.

Ban bet that Purdue doesnt finish top 4?

I’ll ban bet you Michigan finishes higher than your team. I hear the same shit about “such and such can’t be replaced by Joe Backup because Joe Backup didn’t do much last year”. It’s lazy analysis. Development happens.

Common, you're better than that. Eastern definitely would. Cline as well. He's a deep threat. Eifert maybe not, but he's a solid guy. He plays hard, defends and rebounds.
Man, Boiler, I just don't know. I mean, yeah "get minutes", probably. But who does Cline take minutes from: Durham? Green? Langford? Sure Cline can shoot it---but so can Fitzner, McRoberts(shot 39%) and Langford. Green wasn't bad from three, when he took good shots(34%). Just not sure who's minutes Cline gets. Eastern is a wild card; 6'6". Good defender. Decent off the bounce. Not a great shooter. And TBH, I'm not so sure he's that much better of a defender than Green/McRoberts. So again, who's minutes does he get?

Its possible. But I don't think its a given.

Oh, Eifert wouldn't see the floor.

Cline wouldn’t make the rotation? Come on.

But SMith(Frosh), Durham(Frosh) started 18 games. Green started 12 as a sophomore. So I mean, its not like they were buried on the bench. Green played 22mpg...Smith 15 and Durham 18. So again, its not like they were coming in to mop up. All were playing significant minutes, and at key moments. YOu are acting as if those three never played.

Lol I think the order goes MSU, Michigan, then IU, so no I wont bet that.

Name a team that lost 4 senior starters that won 30 games the previous year that didnt take a big step back the following season? The only way to replace that type of production is with instant impact freshman.

Getting minutes on a shitty team is easier than getting minutes on a good team. You’ve been around basketball your whole life and can’t grasp that?

I'm not familiar with your previous schedules. Two of my roommates are Purdue fans, so we have had this discussion a lot recently and yea you guys got hosed this year.

But how on earth will Michigan replsxe Abdur-Rahkman, Duncan Robinson, and Moe Wagner?

Jordan Poole only played 12mpg last year. He must suck or else he would’ve started.

Try harder or don’t try at all. I never once said Purdue would be good. I’m calling out Borden’s logic that there is no difference behind no cracking the starting lineup on a 0-40 team vs a 40-0 team.
Borden didnt say that though? You act like we haven't all seen the players in question play. We have. During their time on the court, they came nowhere close to producing as much as their starting counterparts.

Well...

A. You return 3 starters not 1.
B. You have a MUCH better recruiting class.

Neither did Jordan Poole last year. He must suck.

We lost 3 of our top 5 players.

But Livers and Poole should both be better this year than what we saw last year because that’s how college basketball works.

Then make the Purdue not top 4 ban bet? If you dont think they take a big step back, then it's an easy bet. Even if they go from 2nd to 4th you win...
