2018-19 Recruits

Usually do not follow recruiting that much. I get to know the kids as they play and so far the 2017 class is a hit with Jacob Epperson, Mitch Ballock and Tyshon Alexander. So if anyone knows any of these kids, let me know

2018 class:
4 star PG Marcus Zegarowski
4 star SF Christian Bishop
3 star PF Sam Froling

2019 class has no one yet

I always knew you were not a Hawk fan hawk fb n bb

MSU
All 4 stars
Marcus Bingham
Foster Loyer
Gabe Brown
Aaron Henry
Thomas Kithier

Gabe Brown has injury which is why he is t ranked that high, but I just have a feeling he is going to be great. Showing insane potential.

As a CBB fan I hope Izzo stays and recruits stay committed after all that is happening with the FBI .

I'm super curious how long it's going to take Froling to be better than decent.
Loads of potential.

Any thoughts on Aaron Henry?

He has kind of been forgotten about. A bit undersized four man, but I know he was working on improving his shot to be more of a 3. He is a kid who plans to work harder than everyone else. That is what got him those offers after the summer sessions. Archie wanted him bad, but received commitments from Hunter and Anderson on the same day Henry was thinking about committing. Shit by all accounts Archie still wanted him, but I understand why Henry chose to go elsewhere. I wouldn't expect a ton out of him next year, but he is going to be a great player in college.

Interesting, because I have considered him more of a wing than a forward. Watching video, he has pretty good handles and I read that he shot 40%+ from 3 last season (which they won the state title for their class, I believe). I've also read a lot that his vision / passing is an underrated aspect of his game.

I think he has to play more "bigger" for his high school team, so he very well could be progressing more to the wing side.

Have no idea how accurate these are but this some stats I just found through 21 games. They have played 24 up until this point.

17.2 PPG 8.5RPG 3.7 APG Shooting 33% three

Osu has two 4 stars in Luther Muhammad and Jaedon Ledee. And two 3 stars in Duane Washington and Ahrens. Pretty sure we are still going to add at least one more (most likely a grad transfer or juco) but idk. We need a pg in the worst way.

Hopefully Holtman is a good recruiter. The results on the court in his first year shouldn’t hurt

Iowa's recruit Wiesman has been putting up crazy numbers but these are the ones I really like
6'6 guard, 13.3 rpg , 55.5% from the field and more importantly 83.9% from the FTL. this years team avg'd 69.1% and only had 2 players that shot in the 80's.
as I expect him to start that will give Iowa 3 starters avg'g in the 80's this upcoming season.
Bohannon 89%
Moss 88.1%

this will also help as Iowa lost 3-5 games because of them missing FT's.

rest of his stats updated thru Sub State in the states largest class
33.5 ppg, 13.5 rpg, 1.31 spg, 1.22 bpg, 1.56 apg, 2.36 TO per game, shooting 55.7% from the field, 35.2% from 3 and 83.7% from the FTL,
this while being dbl teamed and triple teamed on occasion

List "your school"'s 2018 frosh class, include guys still being courted.

Kansas has signed
5* G Q. Grimes
5* G D. Dotson
4* C D. McCormack

Verbal from
3* G O. Agbaji

Verbal Commits still shows offers out to
5* G R. Langford
4* F B. Penn-Johnson

With DeSousa already on board, I'm unsure exactly where the scholly situation is at.
Preston left ... two graduate ... one previously open spot ... I think Kansas is "full".
Would need someone to gtfo to sign anyone else, I believe.
So you've won the big 12 and now you're thinking about next season huh?

Really good. An under the radar type of kid. Basketball IQ is really good. He can score off the bounce. A decent shooter. He's a winner. Kid just makes smart , winning plays. He plays hard. He's a tough SOB, too. He will fit in well at MSU.

If we don't land him, I'd much rather it be your Jayhawk's, than god dam n Vanderbilt.

But I know a little something............;)

Langford WAS UofL bound and I say that with about 99% certainty.

I believe so. He was big on Duke early. But UL was a favorite until the sanctions, etc, etc...
Duke got screwed having to take Barrett, Reddish, Williamson, and Jones for consolation. Damn that Langford! I kid. Seriously though, although that will be an impressive scoring bunch none of them are elite jump shooters and they will struggle to score in the mid-range and beyond. I see a lot of defenses packing it in the paint in their future. They really need a guy like Langford.

I'll call K and let him know to get Langford.

Well if he was locked up to Louisville we know what he's holding out for.
Hookers and $100K? Those can easily be written into his contract when he takes the UofL job after the season. SmokinSmile

that's not what a couple posters that pm'd me said, when they told me you had 3 names that you use on here.

I thought this a month or so ago, but twasn't me.

I tend to get anxious when there's fewer games left to be played.
Regardless of who wins the B12 in '19, I'll most likely start the same type of thread.

I actually like the recruiting part of cbb.

Where's Gary Trent and Alex O' Connell going? We've got some good spot up shooters to complement the guys coming in.

What I'm wondering is will Coach K play Zion Williamson at the 5 or will one of the star freshmen come off the bench for us?

I could see this being the starting lineup:

PG: Tre Jones
SG: Gary Trent Jr.
SF: RJ Barrett
PF: Cameron Reddish
C: Marques Bolden

Bench: Zion (will still play big minutes), Alex O'Connell (solid mins at the 2 and 3), Javin DeLaurier, Jack White and Jordan Goldwire

Trent and O'Connell can bomb it for sure but let's be honest, how many minutes are they really going to play when you have Jones, Barrett, Reddish, and Williamson? All those guys are going to play 30+ MPG... and Reddish isn't a 4, even in "positionless" basketball. Duke is going to be in trouble inside if that's the case. If any of the newcomers is a 4 it's Zion. He didn't commit to Duke to come off the bench either. No way Trent plays anywhere close to the minutes he's playing this year, IMO.
