#2 Kansas vs. #5 Tennessee Game Thread

I do find it weird that they keep talking about how poorly KU played. Hell, UT played worse. They shot worse, had a crapload less FTs, and only two more TOs. Both teams probably struggled because of the other team.

^^^^^^THIS!!!^^^^^^

Good game Jayhawk fans. We gave y'all our best shot. Good luck going forward.:)

Same to you! The game held up to what a top 5 matchup is supposed to look like. UT will be nasty by the start of conference play and beyond.

Both teams are top 5. Both played at basically th3 same level of bad. When Tennessee lost Williams there was a definite difference between the 2 teams abilities and Tennessee was considerably worse. They just didn't seem to know where to go offensively until it was too late in OT.

That was eerily similar to playing Kentucky at Rupp.
Refs were determined to make an impact

OT is always a crapshoot. I quit watching when Williams fouled out. I’d like to play Kansas again with competent refs for BOTH squads. Congrats, Jayhawks!

What a great game to look at when you break it down.

Tennessee was the veteran team. Established rotation and everyone knows their roles and plays well off each other. Was a big strength in gaining their lead but also their downfall at the end of regulation and OT. When Williams fouled out players had to play out of their roles and they looked uncomfortable doing so. Schofield had to become the #1 option and looked fine in OT as the scorer but not as a playmaker amd rest of the team missed out on Williams play making as the #1 option and their increased roles.

KU on the flip side looked like the more talented team but a team still finding themselves and players establishing roles. The talent shown through at times and played a part in KU remaining close until playmakers stepped up late. KU may have lost their #1 option when Dok went out but they still had guys ready to step up into the bigger role late and in OT.

Just a fun game. Wouldn't hate a rematch in the NCAAs.

Here's a quicker read..

UT shot like shit, if they hit some threes this was over early.

KU has no offense, Dumping the ball into Dok it will never be seen again and that's basically the strategy, Dedric is/was an all american candidate and cant get the ball in the starting rotation.

If these two teams are considered top 5 in all of CBB maybe Duke IS that good and can beat the cavs, Duke -5 would be the number in either match up atm even with Dukes shit defense.

You got to see two very good teams play are tough game where defense was on the menu. Yeah, some shots were missed (as they always are), but it was a great game. Duke had nothing to do with it and shouldn't even be brought up.

Who is hiding behind Duke? Just making a comparison since YOU brought up “rent free”. And yes, it was a good game.
It's a retort that a few of them are using to justify their atrocious loss. Be careful Walltoboogie or whatever will start fabricating stories about you making up threads about Duke that aren't concrete. Yikes.

UK has a long way to go to get to the level UT and AU are playing at.
They do....but it’s obvious they have the pieces. Whether or not they will work together is the battle. Can’t imagine that many highly rated guys not being able to pull together....even if it takes awhile.
