I've done this the last couple years. So, here it is, once again. There's actually 151 players, as I have Quade Green and Micah Potter both at #86. I was revising some of my numbers, and I didn't feel like re-doing the whole thing. I'm sure others could do better, but this is the best I can do for now. What do you all think? I'm sure I'm missed the mark on a few.

Lots of stuff to go through...very much appreciated as always

Nice job... tough list to create and rank everyone "appropriately". No Nova complaints on this front, with the one caveat and as Villian07 said--homer opinion, Justin Moore will finish the year in the top 30. He is a stud. That is all.

Yeah, it's kind of an impossible task. The difference between player #40 and #100 probably probably isn't wildly significant. But, kind of fun to get a list going which is inclusive of all conferences.

He's got potential, no doubt. I assume he would be the #3 option behind Gillespie and JRE? Only reservation is that I've never had 3 players in my top 30 from the same school. I could see him being a top 30 player if he has a higher usage than JRE.

ssume Gil wants to know where Jordan Bohannon is?

I thought he was banned? If I were going to put a 3rd Hawkeye on the list, I might go with CJ Frederick. Just not sure I can fully trust Bohannon's health.

Franz Wagner too low

Perhaps. It's very possible. I essentially have him pegged as 2nd Team All-Conference, in probably the toughest conference, so not a complete slap in the face. I feel like we've had this conversation before lol.

Enter homer opinions on why their favorite teams players are underrated. And go
@dukedevilz I can understand why he left him off, but it will be a major impact for Iowa to have a veteran shooting guard in Jordan Bohannon returning.

The two main players everyone was waiting on to see if they would return, especially following covid, was Luka Garza, of course.....and Jordan Bohannon. There's a reason for that.

Iowa would have been a top 10 most likely with just Garza coming back given what they already return. But knowing Bohannon was gonna be a part of this year's team, along with Garza announcing his return, guaranteed people were gonna peg Iowa as a top 5 team and a national title contender.

I don't see Aaron Henry (MSU) living up to the 23 ranking. It's possible but he isn't aggressive enough imo. I think Rocket Watts ends up a better player than Henry this year. Josh Langford should be on this list if he is healthy. I wouldn't put him on it until we see him play again though.

Yeah I’m not sure Aaron Henry will be a top 25 player in the country next year. He was better last year, but it would take a nice jump to him being a comfortable first option, which I don’t know if he has. He sometimes gets flustered with the ball. I don’t think he’s a go to kinda guy, but I really hope he proves me wrong. I think he’s should be somewhere in the 40-60 range. He’s good, a great athlete and defender, and a capable shooter, but he has to prove he has “it” before I’m ready to say he’s a top 25 player in the country.

I think Rocket is going to end up a bit higher than the 130’s though. Kid is a absolute machine when healthy. 17.5 a game over the last few games when finally healthy, all against ranked opponents, all wins.. I could also see Joey Hauser outperforming his ranking. The coaches seem to love him.

A lot of options with Sparty. Potentially four different players could be the #1 option with Henry, Hauser, Watts, and a healthy Langford. With Winston and Tillman gone, obviously someone has to take on a larger role. Perhaps 23 is closer to AH's ceiling, than his true net average.

this leads to the big question on everyone's mind.....when is our fantasy draft this year? we doing it again?

I think Caleb Love is to low but that’s just me. Outstanding work as always @dukedevilz

I tend to devalue freshmen, in general. They're such a wildcard. You always have 5-star kids that have good, but not spectacular seasons. And then you have freshmen that were rated as 4-star recruits, that end up having top-100 seasons. So, I'm always cautious with the young guys. Take a look at my postseason rankings of the freshmen that made my 150 list in 2020. In parenthesis, you will see where I had them ranked in the preseason. 15 freshmen in the postseason 150 in 2020 - and then 16 freshmen in my 2021 preseason top 150. Looks about right to me. I'm certainly missing on some of the freshmen, just don't know who at this point.

10. Vernon Carey, Duke (36)
18. Precious Achiuwa, Memphis (105)
26. Onyeka Okongwu, USC (98)
50. Isaiah Stewart, Washington (29)
53. Zeke Nnaji, Arizona (NR)
60. Anthony Edwards, Georgia (18)
62. Jahmi'us Ramsey, Texas Tech (NR)
66. Isaac Okoro, Auburn (NR)
71. Trayce Jackson-Davis, Indiana (NR)
77. Nico Mannion, Arizona (16)
80. Tyrese Maxey, Kentucky (20)
89. Kofi Cockburn, Illinois (NR)
107. Cole Anthony, UNC (6)
119. Cassius Stanley, Duke (127)
126. Jeremiah Robinson-Earl, Villanova (57)

Not a huge discrepancy between those overall numbers and where I have my 2021 preseason rankings of freshman:

3. Cade Cunningham, Oklahoma State
12. BJ Boston, Kentucky
13. Jalen Johnson, Duke
16. Evan Mobley, USC
21. Scottie Barnes, Florida State
30. Jalen Suggs, Gonzaga
64. Ziaire Williams, Stanford
75. Terrence Clarke, Kentucky
94. Josh Christopher, Arizona State
99. Azuolas Tubelis, Arizona
100. Moussa Cisse, Memphis
103. Greg Brown, Texas
115. Jaden Springer, Tennessee
116. Nimari Burnett, Texas Tech
120. Caleb Love, UNC
125. Sharife Cooper, Auburn

Like I said last time I think the conference overrated Matt Coleman last year.

The difference between Coleman, Courtney Ramey and Andrew Jones is game to game.

I have seen people who think either Ramey or Jones will be the one who ends up on the All Conference team this year and not Coleman

82. Bryce Thompson, Kansas
96. Moses Moody, Arkansas

17 freshmen in the top 100 seems like a little much, IMO (and 11 in the top 50). Granted, some classes are really, really good (i.e. Class of 2014).

Like I said last time I think the conference overrated Matt Coleman last year.

The difference between Coleman, Courtney Ramey and Andrew Jones is game to game.

I have seen people who think either Ramey or Jones will be the one who ends up on the All Conference team this year and not Coleman

Love the work you do....IMO though, two guys from Indiana that need to be on the list: Khristian Lander and Jerome Hunter. And I would puts Phinisee or Race Thompson ahead of Durham.

I mean, Hunter has alot of potential, but he hasn't done anything yet to show he's a top 150 player. I could make a better argument right now that Isaiah Ihnen deserves to be on the list with the way he finished the season. He averaged 7.6 ppg and 5.2 rpg over the last 5 while making 10/22 from 3.

I'd be a little hesitant about putting 3 IU guys in the top 150. These are the only schools that had 3 players:

Virginia
Duke
UNC
Villanova
Creighton
Kansas
Baylor
Texas
Michigan State
Wisconsin
Ohio State
Kentucky
Tennessee
Gonzaga

So, 14 total schools. I see Indiana as a fringe top 25 team. I did consider Lander, he was on a list of noteworthy honorable mentions. Only had 16 freshmen make the cut, though. Obviously I will be wrong on quite a bit. Always fun to see guys come out of the blue. Last year, I had Toppin at #90 - and Garza wasn't even ranked.

I wasn't talking 150...I mean JUST for Indiana, i.e. Big 10. I think he COULD have a huge impact for Indiana. Hunter's a former Top 50 kid---as you know, missed an entire year due to a blood clotting issue. Played scripted minutrs early, then finally seemed to get his legs. Had a nice 3-game stretch vs Maryland, OSU and Purdue: 10ppg/4rpg. 4-5 from "3". Shot over 40% last 14 games of season from "3".(15-35).

I don't think he's a Top 150 player....Not yet. Certainly could be. I was just speaking terms of impact/team/conference..

My mistake on the confusion---I didn't mean overall. Just talking in terms of conference/impact/team. No doubt TJD is IU's guy. I just think two guys who could have , and probably will have a huge impact, are Hunter and Lander.

I’ll never forget the amount of shit dude caught last preseason for propping up Garza. Saying how he basically played his soph pregnant bc he had an abdominal tumor or some shit.

Then I’ll be damned if dude wasn’t spot on and then some. Hell I doubt he even thought Garza would be THAT good last year.

Guess there’s something about blind squirrels and broken clocks lol

Last November I told the people in the B1G thread that Garza is probably as good as Frank Kaminsky and they freaked out.
He actually arrived one year earlier than Kaminsky.

After I saw him play twice I was impressed last year.

The intensity is off the charts.

Sorry buddy, it wasn’t you that I was referring to.

It was resident iowa fan that drills each players ratings/stats/hometown/horiscope in each and every post.

I questioned Iowa's ability to play defense last year.

The reason I admitted my mistakes. It was centered around Garza. His intensity just raised the level of that basketball team.

But you are right about Gilligan.
Believe he has been banned. So I don't expect him to be back this year

It’s just hard for me to have Scottie Barnes in the top 25. Now, if you’re saying top 25 of “impact” maybe. And certainly top 25 draft pick in the 2021 NBA draft.

But if you’re saying a “top 25 performer in our fantasy league per your scoring” @dukedevilz, then I just can’t see it. He won’t play enough minutes to rack up major stats and FSU guys just aren’t given the benefit of the doubt when it comes to ACC 1st team lists.

I suppose he could get an all-Region team recognition.

Meh.....I can see the argument, but then again, not really. I'd take Kaminsky. Better athlete...better shooter....better scorer...better passer. Garza was really good last year. But he wasn't surrounded by the guys Kaminsky was.....If Kaminsky was the guy-, his numbers would have been more than "just" 18ppg. PLus, well, one team went 36-4 and was National Runner-up. The other was 20-11.

Senior year vs junior year

Junior year Garza was better.

We have no idea where they end up last year as well...
His Sophomore year they gave Tennessee one hell of a game. The separation between them and the team that won the region wasn't that much because Tennessee and Purdue went to OT and then Purdue and Virgina went to OT.
After Iowa and Tennessee went to OT.

We can agree to disagree...I think Frank was more of a complete player.

Kaminsky---18ppg, 8.2rpg, 2.6apg(103 assist). Shot 41% from 3. 78% FT line.
Garza-------23ppg, 9.8rpg, 1.1apg(36 assist).....Shot 35% from 3...65% FT

Off the dribble I like Frank.
Back to the basket, give me Graza.
Perimeter----Frank
Passing---Frank
SHooting---Frank
Defense---Meh----push, I think. Felt Kaminsky could defend out of the post as well.
Mobility/speed----Ummm, Kaminsky. Garza's shadow was faster than Garza himself...
