The ACC tv deal also sucks because you have to much dead weight. Not enough teams that draw viewers

Well we aren't on the rise. The ACC sucks. Saying that, and due to the latter, a second place finish and 15 wins in conference isn't out of the question. We've been tested, and beat. That doesn't hurt us once we're dancing. Hubert has also pulled off runs before.
How does davis not recruit better big men in the off season? With the portal, the unc name, and your NIL you couldnt get better? Thats fireable offense in itself
UNC has talent. That is undeniable (pro tip for Hubert: play Ian Jackson more). They weren't that far off from the likes of Florida and Kansas. Problem is, beating teams in the ACC doesn't bump your resume up a whole lot. Currently 1-5 in Q1 games, with a nice win over Dayton. You have UCLA this week, and then maybe 5-6 additional Q1 games in ACC play. Need to win at least 3 of those games, IMO.
14-6 for Clemson in 2023 kept them out of tournament. I don't think UNC will miss the tournament, FWIW, but I'd also say the margin for error isn't as big as you'd like it to be. Going 13-7 or 14-6 in league play could easily keep them on or near the bubble.
Idk. I'd assume some recruits/transfers fell through. No Bacot is obviously a game changer, but to not have someone like him ready has caused us to play differently. And, it's not good. But if RJ and Cadeau get hot along with Jackson, I'll hope for the best.
Agreed. The ACC is bad enough that 13-7 will definitely have us in trouble imo. I just think they can win 15.

Obviously winning the FF game would have been preferable. But if it means UNC missing the tournament 2 out of every 5 years, I'm all for that type of long-term trajectory.
To flip things around, some of us are very happy with Jon Scheyer staying at Duke for as long as he would like.

Yes, there are things to clean up, namely minimizing the forced isos in closing time, as well as better half court sets. Though, Duke has had a more efficient offense than UNC every year Scheyer has been a coach.

I think we're going to find out just how much UNC cares about their basketball program.
UK cared enough to take quick advantage of a mistake Cal made and the BBN was accused of running him out, but I gotta tell you, I think it’s worth the criticism in the short and long term. When you're bread is buttered on the basketball court, you can't hang on to a brittle old plastic knife.

Man, I really like the backcourt unc has, I know their size is an issue, but they are so talented.

To me, I am fine with the media/public/other fanbases saying we ran Cal off. Let them go with that narrative, because even if Cal says otherwise, that is what happened.

Matt Jones gets a lot of the blame from UK fans, which isn’t fair, he was saying the same things most everyone else was saying and even tried to give Cal the benefit of the doubt at times.
The outsiders can say whatever they want, Cal is washed, he was mad at the fans and winming fell pretty far down his priority list. UK was his dream job for a reason. The Dallas Cowboys, Alabama football program, Ohio State fb program, Yankees, Dodgers, Celtics, Lakers and any other top shelf program/franchise wouldn’t allow the stuff Cal was turning out either. UCLA is apparently okay with mediocrity, UK is not and I assume unc isn’t either.

I look at it this way, half the fanbase loves him and half hates him.
Some people hate seeing others have success, some hate his political views (I don't care) and some just hate how he carries himself, but I look at how difficult that job is, he has to be entertaining, he can't just be a homer, because nobody would listen, it would get stale and anybody that does that job, is going to get critisism and hate from half the fanbase no matter what they say. It’s impossible to make everybody happy, which is why I don't hate on the guy.

They need to just roll with it and play 4 guards. Yes, they're liable to get outrebounded, but they can exploit a lot of matchups on the offensive end.
I could see what others were talking about years ago, but he seems to just be a regular guy to me.
Getting rid of Cal has made everyone in the bbn nicer to be around, there is no dividing line, so tensions have calmed down.

I am curious how long of a leash do you give Pearl at Auburn...since their FF, he has done the following:
2021 - missed tournament
2022 - blown out in second round as a two seed
2023 - blown out in second round
2024 - lost to 13 seed in first round
Little to no tournament success, with multiple upsets. He obviously has a great team again this year, but what happens if they get upset early again? Will you start to sour on him?
bro. Auburn disnt make the ncaa tournament for 14 years before pearl arrived. Its called perspective here. We also won the SEC tourney in 2024 and sec regular season in 2022. The ncaa tourney is not indicative at all on how a season went. one game in a season will not sower my outlook on pearl. Nor should it for any coach. The ncaa tourney while entertaining is not the best way to actually show who the best team is. Auburn finished 5th in the SEC the year we went to the final 4. Inwould take our 2022 team over them hands down though even though they lost to miami in 2nd route. Kentucky's 2015 team would stroke your 98 team also
