I know we bickered in the duke thread, but yall got stone cold fked tonight. Not calling the facemask was bad enough but to hit stoops with 15 to boot smdh 30 yard swing by zebras. Lost my ass on the game smdh

The missed facemask was tough. Stoops knew when he said whatever he said that he was getting the penalty. Would prefer the official ignore it and walk away though. Regardless, neither call hurt them. Both teams were pretty awful defensively.

Calls def hurt them that 30 yard swing kept them out of fg range. They were only 10 or so away after the big conversion. They dont eff that call up they would have been in fg range. I will agree they still converted and had a chance after that, but it def played a roll in the outcome of the game.

Yeah, that's right. The 15 yards there gets them in potential FG range. I was just thinking about the first down. Regardless, it definitely wasn't worth getting that upset about. It didn't impact the play so one could argue a missed hold was more relevant. However, it was 100 percent missed and should have been called. SEC officials have had a tough few weeks.

Yea first half esp big play on too of big play. 99 plays to their 45 and lose is brutal defense.

Tenn qb shocked me though, hes a stud. Levis played well as well, hell both offenses did.

I won everything i lost on uk back on clemson and clemson live lines tho but damn i coulda had a big day if not for uk/zebras.

Who does Kentucky finish the season with schedule wise?

I doubt that there have ever been many teams that has more than double the amount of snaps and not many turnovers and lose. That’s crazy rare

Btw, I know that we can play snap for snap with Kentucky, but we can’t finish any game. Kentucky will probably score late to beat us.

Man ikr there was a brief period after their game and while we still had a sliver of hope where i thoght, you know what we just might be able to play with UK, esp the way their defense is getting gashed.

Then we do what we do and blow a game we damn well should have won, so i dont expect anything else than a L to UK as well.

we should be a 2 loss team, 3 at most if we didnt beat ourselves and we could close out a game smh. Plus gotta seize the opp to beat clemson when they are down bc i dont imagine they will be often. And we cant get 2 yards smdh.

I was also very much suprised at how good UT wb was.

Also @coryfly ty to unc for exposing wake as another team who was ranked high off of nothing but beating bad teams. Another game we gave away coincidentally.

We can definitely play with them, we just can’t close out games.

Weve “played with” every team on our schedule sans ole miss. But ur right we cant close one out for the life of us. 17 pt blown lead vs uva, blown lead yesterday, i wanna say weve had a lead in the 4th quarter of every game this year sans ole miss and maybe nc state.

idk maybe im an optimist but i still got hope we wont be terrible forever. I mean we literally have 70 “freshmen” eligibility wise, we lost our best wr smith early, our best LB montgomery early, and our best cb in clark last game all out for the rest of the season and we have still been in position to win these games, just cant close em out. Esp frustrating with such an experienced qb in cunningham, but lets be honest hes a D1 athlete playing quarterback. Hes not exactly a great passer of the football, and he tries to make up for it bu running hard instead of sliding or getting down, that hes constantly hobbled, just like last game. If u aint going for a first down or a touch down, lowering ur shoulder to get and extra 1-2 yds is super stupid for a qb imo.

But if we can retain most of the contributors with eligibility left i feel like next year we should be much improved record wise.

This year was always gonna be tough for the offense, replacing hawkins, atwell, and fitzpatrick is no small feat. But i like what ive seen out of watkins, and esp harrell and even huggins-bruce, as well as cooley in the backfield. We have some young playmakers. the defense has been pretty solid for the most part. We aint bout to shut no one out anytime soon but at least we aint giving up 40-50 pts a game like bobby ps last year.

Hopefully we can creep back to at least relevancy next year, even if we arent on pace to be top 25 anytime soon.

Where do you think the 4th loss is coming from then? Vandy or NM State?

Yeah, it was a fun game but UNC is so poorly coached. Howell just saves them every week. I think Longo is the worst OC in football history.

Tennessee felt bad about the facemask, so just let them pick up the 24 yds on 4th down, so how did it really effect the outcome of the game exactly?

It happens! When they miss calls at the end of a game like that it hurts a lot more than if they missed it at the first of the game but we beat ourself. Gave up the FG at the end of the first half that should’ve never happened and our defense was horrible 95% of the night. On to the next!

Meh, UK makes too many mistakes, have all season long. The play calling on key possessions was God awful too.

UK had a shot at a great season, 10 or 11 wins while playing in the SEC, is great, but they shit the bed on that 2 weeks in a row.
Oh well.

They were 10 yards away from fg range. U throw in the net 30 yard loss from the missed call then flagging stoops and they are easily in fg range on their last possession with a chance to tie. Yea they still picked up the first down and had a chance to win/tie despite it. But it still had a very real impact on the outcome of the game. I know u can argue every play would have been diff if they had called it diff, or the kicker could have missed the fg. But the original missed 15 yards alone on the missed facemask would have had then at the edge of fg range even if they never got another yard.

But you shouldnt have to defend it, they miss calls all the time, take the W, i gladly would in ir situation. Im just mad i lost $$$

The last 4 plays were def headscratchers. It was almost like under pressure the qb was trying to throw it away. And he would have probly gotten a PI call on 4th down had he put the ball anywhere near the WR and not 5 yards OOBs. U cant throw it away of be worried about throwin a pick on 4th down at the end of the game, u gotta at least give ur guy a chance to get his hands on the ball.

Yeah, if I were a UK fan I probably would have a bigger beef with how physical the DBs were there at the end, though we never really saw replays. Like you said, have to at least get the ball close for them to call it though.

The play they called on 3rd and 10 was just stupid. You have to run a play that has a chance to actually work, you can't run a play there that might have a 20% chance of working out.
They do that a lot though. I'm amazed when it works out and I always tell myself "damn, that was a great pass and a great catch for a first down, but damn, don't do that again"
He has two damn good running backs, plus a very mobile QB that have all consistently ran for big yardage, but our OC seems to think we have Tom Brady at QB. No, we have a guy that is not accurate, throws the ball way too late and consistently throws into double coverage.

We gave that game away.

The lesson in this is don't bet on UK.

Kentucky might have the worst DBs in the country. Combine that with a shitty scheme and you get exposed.
