UK fans wellness check and prescription

Nobody cares about recruiting banners. Look at the teams winning titles, they aren't doing it with a roster full of rental players. You get old and you stay old and you develop your players over multiple years.

Rick Barnes is doing it right. Blows my mind he doesn't have a FF yet with the rosters he has had.

Calipari has shown that his program actually works when kids stay for multiple years, the problem is the culture doesn’t allow that. These kids come here to leave and Cal gives them the motivation to do that.
At the end of the day it depends on luck. If Cal hits the jackpot on recruits and get some generational players y'all go along way in dance. If Zeigler doesn't go down last year or we don't foul a 3 pt shooter we go far. Tennessee has a very good team, but a lot of that team will be gone next year 5th year Sr's. So, you can expect UT will not be notable until Barnes builds another team up.

Do you really want to be out of it for a couple of years before you really have a good shot at UK? My point is there are trade offs.

Generational players are too rare, so rare that you would be a fool to design your program around that.

You have Zion, AD, Carmello Anthony, Lebron and Kevin Durant that I would put in that generational category. Like I said, they are extremely rare.

Then you have transcendent guys, but again, there aren't enough of those guys to anchor your program to, especially now that those type guys aren't just flocking to one school.

As far as veteran rosters go, there is no reason why a team like UT should fall off a cliff because the seniors left. No, if you do it right, you should have developed players right behind them that are ready to be the next leaders.

Also, with the transfer portal, you can supplement what you already have with guys like Tre Mitchell, Knecht, Cryer, Love, Antonio Reeves etc… You just don't want to base your whole roster on transfers and freshmen, it is an uphill battle.

We’ve been out of it more than a couple already.
Yeah, but would you be OK with Cal having a bunch of 4*'s and building them? I think y'all want to be great every year and I don't think that is doable in the current age.

You might be right, but it’s hollow getting elite talent then watching them lose to teams that just have good basketball players, in the best sense of the term.

No, it can't be Cal. He is always going to focus on the NBA draft. Even the vets on the 2018/19 and 19/20 teams didn't stay. The ones that didn't go to the NBA, bolted to the transfer market, because they knew they were getting recruited over.

The only way to wash away this ugly ass one-and-done culture, is to cut off the head of the snake and that’s Calipari. As long as he is here, we are going to be the one-and-done school. Yuck.

Ok then, next subject.

You guys seem to be under the weather, My group has done all they can do for you and you look worse. So I'm having you see a specialist in Nashville at Vanderbilt. The appointment is 8:30 Pm Tuesday and don't complain, it was the best I could do with little notice. I think they should be able to fix you up.
As always, della is correct. Vandy plays like their souls are on the line against Tennessee. The rest of the SEC? A heaping helping of meh.

In what world did Vandy play well against UT? Vandy shot 36% from the field and 30% from three.

UT shot 22 FTs, Vandy shot 13.

UT outrebounded Vandy as well.

In what way did Vandy play like their souls were on the line against UT?

Did you even WATCH the game? Vandy gave us everything we wanted in the first half. We pulled away in the second.

They never showed up against Kentucky. It was watching the Globetrotters against the Generals. UK did what they wanted, and the visiting fans were entertained.

That is just not factually or statistically true. I have stats to back up what I am saying...provide me some evidence other then how you feel.

I think I get what GhostVol is saying. I can't tell you how many times some dude that hasn't hit a 3 all year, suddenly goes 3 for 4 against UK. You guard the top scorers and some dunce that sucks against everyone else, goes off, then is never heard from again.

Oh I understand what he is saying...but it is not factual to UTs game against Vandy. Vandy scored 62 pts, and shot very poorly from the field...somehow that qualifies, according ghostvol, that Vandy went off and played the game of their lives. Just not factual at all.

Yeah, that was strange game. I thought UK was in for another close one based on the way they played UT. I have no idea how that game was ever close.
But then again, we went 10-12 from 3 point range to start the game, that will crush most teams.

Don't me argumentative just for the sake of it. Vandy led us at the half and y'all were never in doubt. I don't believe in any way was Ghost trying to come at UK with his point.

Yeah...I never said one thing about Ghost coming at UK..I know he wasn't.

Vandy did not play well, at all, against UT. I have all the stats in the world to back it up. He has nothing, other than a halftime score where Vandy put up 35 pts in a half...watch out.

Let me ask you if UK played well against UT compared to how well Vandy performed

UK played how they normally play offensively...and they played how they normally play defensively.

I am not sure what you are getting at...
