100%. The difference is, from 09-17, he was getting transcendent players that could dominate on both ends of the court. Plus, he had guys like Liggins, Jones, MKG. AD, Miller, Noel and Randle that were incredible defenders right out of the box, no special training needed.

Cal consistently puts himself in this position. His whole 'players first' crap, gives the players all the power and don't even get me srarted on Klutch. They told Cal he wasn't allowed to play Schaedon Sharpe 2 years ago and Cal followed those orders, because if he didn’t, he would have lost recruits. That's dome bullsh1t.
Nobody cares about recruiting banners. Look at the teams winning titles, they aren't doing it with a roster full of rental players. You get old and you stay old and you develop your players over multiple years.
