TV/video games/movies off season thread

My dad is a cheapskate and won't pay for TV/internet. I don't have cable either but I have ESPN+ to watch all games. I just watch on my xbox/monitor.

Does anybody know the easiest way to record and transfer the games to DVD for my dad to watch?

I think I'm going to get a usb-c to hdmi cord, plug his phone to TV, then show him how to watch replays on youtube. I think that would work?
You may want to read about HDCP. I have several usb-c to hdmi cords. Good luck because they will not get past the Intel encryption.

Intel through its copy protection is really hard to get past. I stopped trying last year, especially in HD. It is easier with DVD, but the high definition is complex and give Intel more room to fvck you up.

I have one splitter that will not pass through the HDCP encryption; however, they don't last long and trying to overcome it is too hard for a 78 year old man. I bought 8 cheap Chinese splitter to find one that did not pass along the encryption.

From 1978 until 2023 I had all the UK games. I gave up and surrendered to Intel last year. If I were younger and wanted to spend a lot of money I would continue to do it. But not now at 78.

@Demarcus Kidd-Miller You can watch full games from The Draftmatic and extended highlights from Matt Highlights. I go there almost on a daily basis.

Yeah I'm subbed to Matt and I got another guy that puts all UK replays up like an hour after the game ends. I'll check out draftmatic too.

I'm just trying to figure out things I need to let him watch on his TV. He has an older iPhone so it uses the lightning instead of usb-c. I ordered a lightning to hdmi cord. I just don't know if it will work when I plug his phone up to the TV. If i plug it up and change the input to hdmi, will it show the video from his phone on his TV. Or would he have to have some type of mirroring app on his phone still?

I believe it should work, yes, but maybe his setup is a little different than mine. I take ESPN3 games all the time and use an HDMI cable to watch it on the TV.

that ending though... wow... did not see that coming

And now having taken a moment to think about it, it's ****ing genius. This dude killed his brothers. He doesn't give a shit about some black kid. Made the viewers fools for believing they'd rule together. Such a great twist that we all should've seen coming a million miles away.

He also just saw all the #2s take out their bosses. He might have figured that Vic would try to take him out at some point as well. But, yeah, he's also a ****ing psychopath

I legit feel bad for people who don’t watch Silo. Epic banger of first episode of Season 2
might rewatch S1 before I watch S2. Started re-reading the first book a year ago, but after a while I remembered that I don't read books and put it down. Might go back to that and finish it before watching S2.

Been playing a bit of the new Call of Duty. Got damn am I terrible at these games now lol. Used to be really good a decade ago.
I don't even entertain the thought of buying them anymore. I tried a few years ago and realized pretty quick that my thumbs don't move like they used to and my skills aren't there anymore. I was a Top 100 ranked player back in the old days of MW 2 but I could play 10 hours + a day back in those days.

Anyone remember the SOCOM series? I miss true team based matches with friends who took it seriously and strategized each match.
