TV/video games/movies off season thread

Finished Astro Bot. Really cool game.

Needed something to play till Zelda comes out later in the week so giving Vampire Survivors a shot. So far it's really cool as well. Very similar to Brotato.

Toying with the idea of trying College Football, but I'm hesitant because I haven't played Madden in 20 years and I don't really want to learn a whole new control scheme. Not sure I have that kind of patience these days.

Just started binging Slow Horses on Apple TV. This show is ****ing incredible so far

I did the same about a month ago. Just made it through season 3 the other night. Fantastic show.

Also finished season 1 of the Old Man last night. Good show, great story, but the writing and self absorbed dialogue dragged it down quite a bit. It was like the show was one bloated speech after another. Got to the point where I started fast forwarding 10 seconds at a time whenever someone starting filibustering. Also started skipping the scenes where someone was talking to a ghost. Once yoiu took out the useless filler the show was really good.

This season of The Old Man has been considerably worse imo. The daughter is insufferable and Zoe is a worthless character. Bridges and Lithgow are great but the story needs some work.

What an incredible season of Industry. Might be my favorite current show.

Just binged all 3 over the last several weeks, I like the work shit a lot more than the personal life shit. Found myself fast forwarding a lot in season 1, got better in season 2 and really enjoyed season 3. ****ed up finale, to say the least.

Just started Bad Monkey on Apple TV, I don’t get surprised often in TV shows but the twist in episode 3 was pretty awesome

Is there enough on Apple TV that it's worth adding? Feel like we already have everything. Of course I could drop Paramount or Peacock honestly.

yea, Apple TV is loaded....

Slow Horses
Silo
Severance
Ted Lasso
Black Bird (havne't seen it but supposed to be really good)
Bad Monkey (same as above)
Hijack

There are more good shows than that, but those are off the top of my head. Those first 3 I listed are all phenomenal.

If you had to choose, Apple is much better than Paramount and Peacock.

I currently have a 3 month free trial so I'm going to try to watch as many shows on it as I can that I've heard are good. I haven't watched a ton on Apple TV but everything I have watched has been excellent - Slow Horses, Ted Lasso, Severance, and now Bad Monkey. Also heard good things about Dark Matter, Shrinking, Presumed Innocent, Silo, and Manhunt.

do Silo next, it's the best of the bunch.

Just finished Shrinking. Thought it was really good. Didn’t realize Harrison Ford was that funny.

Just binged Dark Matter…pretty cool concept. Had some plot holes and execution issues but enjoyed it overall. Apparently, there’s going to be a season 2 but I honestly think it was great how it ended.

Are u just sitting there tied to a chair with ur eyes pulled open like Clockwork Orange? I’m pretty sure you’ve binged 5 full shows this week.

For any gamers on here, Throne and Liberty is a free to play MMORPG that you can play on consoles. I'm enjoying it so far, and it's gorgeous looking.

Been playing it. It's good. Probably going to play it until the 15th when New World comes out. I played the New World beta and I enjoyed the combat more than Throne and Liberty. It's simpler. Throne and Liberty is good but the game is complicated to me, especially the system they use to get better armor and weapons.

I'm only lvl 14, so I'm barely scratching the surface. But it's pretty fun so far. I wouldn't call it a complicated combat system compared to other games I've played. I like that you can level up any weapon and use rather than being stuck in a single class.

Yeah I like not being stuck to a single class as well. I was more so just calling the gear levling system complicated compared to New World. There's just so much more you have to do to get good gear in Throne and Liberty from what I've seen so far. I've heard the game gets much better as you level up so I'm going to keep playing it. Still think I'll end up putting more time into New World. We'll see though.

Throne and Liberty kind of reminds me of Elder Scrolls Online. I've never played MMOs on Pc like WoW or anything. I'm a console pleb.

I’m a single player gamer so no MMO’s for me. Been playing the new 2D Zelda game and also switching over to Vampire Survivors on Gamepass every so often. Zelda game really cool so far if you played BOTW and TOTK. Game is set in exact same world, but now in 2D form.

Just watched The Platform 2. Definitely wasn’t expecting a second movie but it was just as ****ed up as the first one. Love the concept of the movie. Y’all should watch both if you haven’t seen them.

Decided to buy New World and loving it so far. You were right about it, much more fun to play and smooth UI. I'm afraid this game is going to rob me of a lot of time.

I like it better but I'm on console. It just feels smoother on console to me. I'm like level 28. I'm having a blast and I haven't even done any raids, expeditions, or pvp yet.
