Thought I needed another needless list to close out the season, so here's my latest: Transfer All-Americans. Just like your regular All-American teams, just with transfers only. I'd give the Transfer of the Year (TOY) to Brandon Clarke. I thought he was more valuable than Rui, and he played on a better team than Lawson.

Dedric Lawson Kansas (Memphis)
Brandon Clarke Gonzaga (San Jose State)

2ND TEAM

Braxton Huggins Fresno State (New Mexico St)
Aubrey Dawkins UCF (Michigan)
Malik Fitts Saint Mary's (USF)

Good idea! But no love for David Nichols? Dude carried us against UVA and a couple other games.

Also, what if they transferred a couple years ago? Like Brandone Francis?

I was only accounting for players that were in their 1st year as a transfer. So no Cam Johnson, Caleb Martin, James Palmer, Eric Paschall, etc. on the list. The all-transfer teams would certainly be very impressive if we included all the transfers.

Can't say I'm blown away by the numbers for Nichols, to be honest. If he had better shooting percentages, he might have merited honorable mention consideration.

catching a bit of a Hail vibe here Laughing

Is that code for homer?

Anyway, I think folks who didn't follow FSU game by game don't realize how big he was during games due to Trent Forrest being hobbled by a significant foot injury all season (which he has already had surgery on shortly after the Gonzaga loss). Forrest isn't the type to complain or draw attention to himself, but he was majorly limited for much of the season. Without Nichols being able to run the offense for long stretches during games where Forrest was forced to come out, there's no way we would have finished top 4 in the ACC or made the ACC Finals. He wasn't relied upon every game, but when we needed him to step up he did in a BIG way.

Nichols:
16 points in 21 minutes in a neutral site win over UConn
19 points in 25 minutes in a neutral site win over St. Louis (both UConn and St. Louis were right after Forrest got hurt)
13 points and 3 assists in 22 minutes in a 6 point win over Miami (KenPom MVP)
16 points and 4 assists in 27 minutes in a 9 point win over Clemson
16 minutes in 22 minutes against UNC
14 points, 5 boards, 3 assists in 22 minutes against UVA in ACC Semi-Final win (KenPom MVP)

Then he got hurt and missed two NCAAT games.

Fair enough. Just figured I'd give a shout out. And yeah, makes sense about only counting the guys who were in their first year.

I'd go Jarreau over Heron, other than that looks about right. Maybe Tariq as second team and lj figueroa somewhere on there
