The SEC is shaping up to be a tough Conference

I agree that they have to perform in the tournament, but there's no question that the league had one or the greatest OOC runs of all time. I haven't ever proclaimed it as the greatest of all time but I definitely think it's up there. What the SEC did OOC was ridiculous and surprising because most of the league usually drops some head scratches early on.

No one’s goal is to peak in November. The teams that are remembered as great are those that go to final fours and win titles. If the SEC dominates the tourney, I think it’s fair to start comparing them to the greatest conferences ever at that point.

5 or so years ago, the SEC went like 3-30 vs ranked teams in the non-con. No one was saying it was the worst conference ever. Likewise, I think people should pump the brakes on calling it the greatest ever after a good non-con.

If Grok’s accurate, SEC is 21-8 vs the AP top 25. 15-10 vs Torvik’s top 25. Solid numbers but not slam-dunk GOAT stuff.

They've all had the same chance to put just as many or more teams into the tourney. If you think the reputation was mainly built on beating each other you must've missed the first 2 months of the season. SEC non-con record is 185-23, which includes plenty of power conference opponents.

I wasn’t saying they don’t deserve a lot of bids (although 12 might be pushing it).

you didn't even come close to hurting my "feels" and not upset at all. I just called you out on your foolish observation that Bama gets extra credit for their final four run last year. You just gotta own that pitiful mindset. Thats a big reach Jeff.
Why are you so bothered by Alabama getting a little nudge because they were successful the year before? You should want that.

I have Houston with the top 4 in the SEC but texas tech. no

You probably haven’t watched them for more than 5 minutes. They weren’t healthy most of the year. Now they are. Torvik has Tech in the top 5 the last few weeks. Auburn's not top 5 in that timeframe btw.

BYU and KU have both been top 10 in that timeframe. BYU's been great lately. The Big 12's way better right now than you think it is. You'll be filling out your bracket based on games from November.

lol. i hope you pick kansas to go far.

The tournament starts in 2 weeks, we’ll all see if November/December translates to March. There will be a lot of SEC favorites in the first round, it’s the second round that will tell you how strong any conference is. I know that the ACC is easily the weakest this year, but teams like Vanderbilt are really not that dangerous. With that said, watch Vanderbilt go to the elite eight. lol

Someone high ranked in the SEC will bomb and someone lower will thrive

I have to agree with this. I do think the Big12 has a couple more lower tier winnable games towards the bottom, but running through the big12 like Houston has has been super impressive. People keep saying Houston's offense is bad, but it's not. Slower in pace, but very efficient. BYU also has been especially hot of late, they are a VERY dangerous team for anyone in March.

Vanderbilt is super annoying to play. That guard they have is a killer. Not a very big team, but they gave us some issues for sure. I don't see them making a run though. They will be in a dog fight 1st game likely.

Yeah, honestly, BYU might be the team I most want to avoid in the conference tourney.

You correctly picked your team to win a tourney game vs a depleted squad six years ago? Nostradamus has nothing on you. 😆
I don't know who was or wasn't playing for KU, but they weren't beating Auburn, regardless, that day.

Looks like Auburn was leading 51-25 at the half. I remember Auburn being absolutely on fire and could not miss. A lot of contested shots as well, they were just really good that day.
