The SEC is shaping up to be a tough Conference

No instructions on what to do, but I get it, you are being you. šŸ¤£
I can smoke some of the best things, anything from ham, bologna, to cheese, and so on, but if someone asked, I would explain how to do it, not just throw out a bunch of stuff like hickory and cherry and apple wood. I would break the prosses down.
Anyway, Merry Christmas to you and your family.
First of all you started about eating beans, not cooking them. Secondly, I doubt you have ever cooked cornbread. If you had you would understand by my ingredients what my cornbread is about. 1st, I like my cornbread fluffy and not dense. (thus, the flour). Secondly, I don't use sugar, so I don't like it super sweet. (I ain't making corn cakes). Finally, I use lard as my fat of choice, cause I'm old school. If you cooked cornbread, you would know you can make alteration on the flour to cornmeal based on how you like your cornbread. Same goes with the honey. I will give you one secret, preheat your fat (lard in my case, but you could use butter before adding in the mix.

No, I have never cooked cornbread, that's why I was asking. And the lard sounds awesome, that's what I grew with, remember I am OLD. Just tell us the prosses of mixing and cooking it.
How about this, what about dressing, do you have a good recipe for that?
Now, I guess we need to start a cooking thread. Or we could say that the SEC thread is now Superably Excellent Cooking. I know the spelling is not correct, but what the heck.

Well, I didn't appreciate your tone with me by asking me if I were chicken shit or whatever. I had done to deserve that.

Where is your wife? You need to have her warm up and call her out of the bullpen. Btw, I'm an excellent cook. I can cook southern, cajun South American, and french cuisine.

I did not mean to hurt your feelings young lady, but I am full crap and joke a lot, and my wonderful wife is bed, where your chicken shit butt should be. šŸ¤£ Now that's where this old butt is going.
Merry Christmas, and good night!

That sounds good, but it has to be great northern beans to be the best, and be cooked with a hammock, and you have to soak the dried beans in water over night to take the gas out. šŸ˜‰
I've never tried cooking with a hammock but I doubt they have as much flavor as a ham hock.

Kids have an aversion to spicy. However, if I make some for you consider it done.

I'm cooking as I write this very moment.
If you are cooking corn bread, my grandfather would appreciate it. God blees him, if Grandma did not have corn bread, he would grab white bread and milk. It was a nightly think with him. I was just a kid, he died before I grew up, just have the memories. I am in my 60's and really starting to understand things. šŸ‘

I created you your own cooking thread CD. WE can discuss things there.

Yeah man if not he's toast at Auburn. I like you, but you're crazy man!
Yeah Pearl is here as long as he wants to be. Am I happy with the early exits? Of course not, however I remember the wasteland Auburn basketball used to be before he got here.

Haha...I never said he was toast. In fact, I said as long as he is competitive in the SEC and making the tournament consistently, he can probably stay at Auburn as long as he would like.

However, in my opinion, Auburn's past four postseasons have been trash. Auburn will be a one seed, most likely, this season. If they don't make it out of the first weekend again, Pearl should rightfully be questioned for his ineptitude in March, as it would be five crappy NCAAs in a row (and they didnt even make the tourney in 2021). You can't chalk that up to randomness, you have to look at the coaching to determine why it keeps happening over and over again.

But, there is a lot of randomness in a single elimination tourney. After UK's losses against Oakland or St Peters if UK had scheduled 10 more game against those two, how many games do they win over those two? I would imagine 19 or 20 games.

He basicslly thinks one game is far More telling thsn the 30 plus others you play in a season.

When it happens repeatedly, you have to look at coaching. Once or twice, sure. I am onboard with the random element.

Not five seasons in a row hahaha.

Did Auburn fail to win a tourney game for the last five years?

That was never my argument, though. I said Pearl needs to get out of the first weekend for a change, in light of Auburn's results the past four years.

2021 didn't make tourney
2022 were a two seed and got blown out in second round, game was never close
2023 had an average season thus were rewarded with an average seed, and then got blown out in second round
2024 lost to Yale in first round after blowing double digit lead with 10 min to go

My point is that Auburn will most likely have a one seed this year. If they go a fifth season in a row without getting out of the first weekend, that is 100% an indictment on Pearl's coaching. It is no longer random March results if this happens five years in a row.

I can see making an ethical argument against Pearl, but he is a top notch coach aside from that. 5 years encompasses 19 and they made it to FF. Pearl tenure started traditionally ( before the portal) and you really can't put him on the clock before he has built a team (3 years) and you can't count a covid year when there was no tournament.

yes in 2020 where the tourney got cancelled Auburn finished second in the SEC. 25-6 overall.

I am not counting the Covid year (March of 2020) when there was no tournament. I specifically am looking at the past four years (2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024). With eyes on the 2025 tournament.

More then fair to look at five consecutive years of tournament results after this March.

The bottom line is that Auburn has fared well under Pearl. Even though the Vols are going to kick their ass, Pearl is doing a great job.
