8) Arkansas
9) Mississippi State

Arkansas at 8? Avatar bet on that?
Also, Georgia is sooo much better than that. Switch them with Oklahoma maybe.
Mizzou will bring up the rear most likely.

Today's NET rankings.

Net rankings in early December are useless.

I think we're very good, but it's really hard to stack us up vs the top of the conference (without looking back to last year) bc the schedule difficulty doesn't compare. I'm actually surprised we are as high as we are in some rankings bc of this.
I think Miss St and UF are scary good. 😬

IDK, doesn't it tell us where these teams are at this moment?
They seem to be more accurate than KP is right now.
Where’s your team at in sos? Y’all have been killing the bad teams and are 1-1 against the good ones.

Feel free to bring this back up in March, I could be wrong but I think I’m pretty close unless teams have players that get injured.

I agree, but a lot if teams are struggling with some of those bad teams.
But also, the NET accounts for that.
It’s going to change throughout the season, but this is where they are right now.
I get it, UK lost a true road game by 4 points, but are you thinking UK isn’t any good?
Are you thinking Louisville should be higher?
Who should be in front of UK that isn't?

You very well may be right, but you also predicted just last week that UL was a good team and there's no way UK is blowing them out this year, but Ole Miss just went in really deep on y'all in the Yum.

I know you're down a guy, but that one guy wasn't making the difference in a nearly 30 point loss.

Would you say it's possible that you could be way off on things like this?

Honestly, I have no idea how good UK is, but given where Pope started, he’s doing a very good job. It’s definitely the wrong year to be rebuilding, the SEC is going to be far better than it has ever been.

I didn’t say that last year, at least after seeing our team play. I may have said that in the summer.

I went and looked at KP. Very interesting and confirms what I was already thinking. You picked UK out, which is fine, our SOS at this point, is not murderers row, but do you see anything interesting?
I'm not referring to UL not being in the picture.
FYI, UL is rated 53rd with a SOS of 35.
Also, UK's SOS by tournament time, will most likely be top 10.

Injuries certainly suck. All it takes is 1 to derail a season.
It doesn't even have to be season-ending injuries. Plenty of teams get lower seeds due to losses caused by injuries.

One high ankle sprain can cost a title.

I was thinking of Keith Bogans and the '03 game with Wade's triple-double.
I actually had that very thing typed out in my response to Rocky 20 minutes ago, but took it out.
Wade was going to be a tough cover no matter what, but having Bogans would have given us a good shot for sure.

We swept the SEC that year first time done in forever, if ever. #1 overall seed.
Half @Bert Higginbotha show you that Vandiblilt game and in the 2nd half a switch turned on.
Calipari in Memphis studied the defense and said it was like they had 6 guys on the floor.

I remember that gane at Vandy, the defensive performance UK put on in the 2nd half was nothing like I've ever seen.

I definitely believe that Cincinnati would have won the championship if not for Kenyan Martin getting injured.
That created quite a stir in the debate on whether injuries affected seeding.

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -- It's all about timing.

Even with an injury to star center Loren Woods, Arizona kept the No. 1 seed in the West. But Cincinnati, stunned by an injury to star center Kenyon Martin, dropped to No. 2 in the South. The difference? The 10 members of the NCAA selection committee felt Martin's loss hurt the Bearcats more than Woods' loss hurt the Wildcats, as evidenced by Arizona's victory over Stanford even without the 7-foot-1 Woods.

"We talked about Cincinnati very early and came back to them a couple times," Craig Thompson, chairman of the selection committee, said of the decision to drop the Bearcats. "But when you lose a potential player of the year, that's going to affect your team."

"It's ridiculous, totally ridiculous," Huggins said. "We must be the first team in history to be No. 1 in the RPI and not get a No. 1 seed. That's a historical thing those guys just did. How do they know how good we'll be without Kenyon?"

ACC used to be the best conference, the Big East had it for a while, then it was the BIG12, now the SEC looks to be taking the torch. It’ll cycle around, especially with these super conferences forming.

Eventually the SEC will lose that crown in football, they've had it for a while, but eventually they'll lose it.
Maybe temporarily, but I doubt it.

Jesus UK beats the Zags in Washington
Mizzu beat Kansas at home
A&M beats Tech
Vandy over TCU
What is happening right now?! Just by chance they should be losing some of these closer games.

UConn is housing Texas @ Texas, which I didn’t see coming at all.

But the SEC is going to be a gauntlet.

I was listening to the KSR clown show this morning, they said that this SEC has a great chance of having the highest winning percentage against other power conferences since the early 2000’s. They did brag about that but didn’t mention Kentucky only being 1-1 against that group. The rest of the conference outside of Kentucky is really tough.

Why are you listening to a sports show about Kentucky?

Listening to their take on the game.
Where would you rank Kentucky today? Are they a top ten team? Top 20? Without looking, I’d have to imagine our game at Clemson is one of the tougher games of the bunch. A true road game against the number 16 team in the county.

What does that have to do with listening to a rival team radio show? I live in one of the counties right outside Louisville and never listen to shows about them. I was just curious.
I have always considered Rocky "Special Ops". He goes behind enemy lines to gather intel and report weakness.

I couldn't imagine listening to something duller than local Ole Miss, UT, Arkansas radio shows. But that's just me.

To each their own. Heck I wouldn't even know where to find them. Do they exist?

Then again, they're not UK. Matt Jones, even though I very rarely listen, will check in on a post game, but for the most part it just bores the shit out of me. Not much into homer takes which makes me understand Rocky's stance on why he listens to them.

Does anyone know Ole Miss', UT's or Arkansas' top radio program? I've never heard the locals even talk about them.

I'll give it a half hour.
