The SEC is shaping up to be a tough Conference

I feel sorry for Blake, if he has to wear that warm clothing indoors at his young age, he will not make it when he gets old like me.
iirc he does his podcast in his garage lol. I guess that could also warrant some sympathy though 😂.

If him or one of his family, or close friends smoke, then I understand being out in the garage. In the past I had a big screen, refrigerator, heat and air, pretty much everything but a bed and bathroom in our garage so if someone was a smoker, that's where we went, no smoke in the house. 😉
And I am not putting someone down for smoking, it's their choice, I use to smoke for the first half of my life, not an easy habit to break.

Auburn is a 92 percent chance to garner a 1 seed, Tennessee is a 61 percent chance. Would like to know why that is, does Auburn have an easier SEC schedule
its because auburn already has 5 quad 1 wins and can get a 6th one this saturday with purdue.

Seems like a big percent difference.

The fact that Auburn will host us and UF and not have to play at Knoxville or Gainesville might be part of it.

Auburn has played a difficult non conference schedule and survived with just one blemish. They have a 35 rating on Kenpom and that is really strong. The Vols are sitting on a 31 rating which is second best, but there is a sizable gap there. I would imagine that is the difference. However, having a better than 50/50 chance to make a #1 seed is pretty strong.

Trust me I know. I used to put on gloves and hide to smoke during my lunch break. Lets just say it doesn't look good to smoke in my line of work. Quit vaping cold turkey with the birth of my son a few months ago.

Wouldn't surprise me to see 1/2/3/4 finish with 13-5 or 12-6 records.

There is no reason why the top two teams in the SEC should not have one seeds, and there is no reason why a team in the ACC should even be sniffing around at a one seed. Just my opinion.

I know ya'll didn't think we were going drop that one... Tired of refs keeping teams in games though. Shoulda been over that first half.

Gonna be brutal. Probably the best/deepest conference I have seen in quite some time.

Speaking solely about UK, I envision a 9-9/10-8 conference record. Should be good enough to get them a 5-6 seed. Anything better then that would be gravy for Pope's first year.

How come I'm not seeing much negative Bruce Pearl posts anymore? He suddenly get gewd? Seriously though, how can anyone deny the guy is one of the best coaches in college bball? Auburn was NO ONE! The bottom of the barrel in a slightly above average league.

He has done a fantastic job with their basketball program. No denying that.

I was talking with an Auburn fan in a separate thread to see if fan expectation have changed in light of the success Pearl has had. Seems like the fanbase is content with being in contention in the SEC and making the tourney yearly.

However, I am of the mindset that expectations should change based upon the success of a program.

For me, Pearl has massively underachieved in the past four years (not in relation to Auburn's basketball history as a whole, but in relation to what he has achieved since taking over). Auburn missed the tournament in 2021, got blown out as a 2 seed in 2022 in the second round, got blown out in the second round in 2023, and lost to Yale as a four seed last year in the first round.

Very poor results, recently, if you ask me. Auburn should be a one seed this year. If they once again don't get out of the first weekend with this team, that would be a massive problem in my opinion.

You still are so wrong here. First off some context here on your paragraph on underachieving. At least tell the whole picture. You do realize the 2023 we lost to a 1 seed in second round as an 8 seed right? The 2021 team was a covid year and 2 of our pmauers couldnt play all season. We have been upset just twice in the tourney and one of them in 2024 our second best player got ejected 6 minutes into the game. Do a little research on things before posting

No, I am not wrong, as it is my opinion that Pearl has massively underachieved the past four years. Proof is in the results. It is 100% fine if you are happy with the results the past four years. I am saying if I was an Auburn fan, I would not be happy with the last four years, at all. Especially missing the tournament altogether. And getting blown out by Miami, or losing to flippin Yale (Auburn was up by double digits with 10 min to go, and blew it). All I hear is a bunch of weak excuses for Pearl crapping down his pants too often. It's OK to admit his postseason results, or lack thereof, have been weak the past four years.

You are entitled to your opinion, which is fine. You are content with those results, cool.

Yes. your opinion is flat out wrong. Has nothing do with being content. again I bet you didnt even realize 2023 we lost as an 8 to a 1 seed. 2 upset losses. Thats it and in those seasons we won the sec regular season and sec tourney. Lastly the sec tourney is apart of the post season.

Nope. You can say that until you are blue in the face.

Missing the tournament is a crappy result. Getting blown out (not just losing a close one), but getting blown out in the second round as a two seed sucks. Losing to a 13 seeded Yale team after blowing a double digit lead in the second half sucks.

Sorry Pearl didn't do a better job in the regular season in 2023 to avoid having to play and get blown out by a one seed in the second round.

You seem like one of those posters who despises anyone who has a differing opinion of the program you support.

In my opinion, Pearl had better step it up this postseason and get outta the first weekend. But I am sure if he doesn't, you will be armed with excuses.

I just have very little respect at all for your opinion here. you are flat out wrong and ill informed. I will never judge a coach by 1 game like you do. . The 2020/2021 season is the only I would say was overly disappointing. I have no issue with well reasoned differing opinions. You dont have one of those though.

Not one fact I presented was "ill-informed." Auburn missed the tourney in 2021? Check. Auburn was a two seed and got blown out in the second round against Miami in 2022? Check. Auburn played in the 8/9 game in 2023 and subsequently was blown out in the second round? Check. Auburn lost to Yale after blowing a double digit lead in the second half? Check.

Not one thing is misleading or wrong.

again all of those are one game scenarios. Again one game in a season of 30' games seasons will never be how a cosch should be judged. He won sec titles ofnsome sort in 2022 and 2024. That will never be dissappointing

I like pintos/onion/pepperoncini and cornbread
That sounds good, but it has to be great northern beans to be the best, and be cooked with a hammock, and you have to soak the dried beans in water over night to take the gas out. 😉

What is funny about that?
No instructions on what to do, but I get it, you are being you. 🤣
I can smoke some of the best things, anything from ham, bologna, to cheese, and so on, but if someone asked, I would explain how to do it, not just throw out a bunch of stuff like hickory and cherry and apple wood. I would break the prosses down.
Anyway, Merry Christmas to you and your family.
