For me it’s Russel Westbrook. Everyone freaks out over the triple doubles, but he shoots worse than Lonzl Ball from the field, he just set a turnover record, and the offense only flows through him. Some blame on Donavan, but that offense is terrible. Westbrook also doesn’t play good defense and isn’t a good leader.

I think Kyrie Irving is up there as well.

And our boy John Wall did not have the best year either.

Westbrook is actually taking a ton of criticism right now. And he did out score a playoff team by himself in the 4th quarter in a huge come back the other day.

But it's so obvious he plays selfishly at times and has gotten caught up in stat padding a bit.

What would you say are the top 5 right now?

Lebron
Harden
Durant
AD
Westbrook?

Where does Giannis rank?

Westbrook is still a top 5 player in the league and is not overrated one bit.
In what measure? He leads a team with him, Stevan Adams and Paul George (notice how I didn’t say Carmelo) and the got beat. by 6 in the first round. He isn’t a winner. He can’t shoot. He’s not a good leader. He is the most athletic PG, and that’s about it. His assists are overrated because of the system he plays in (he holds the ball almost the whole possession).

LeBron, Curry, AD, Harden, KD. Those are 5 players that are better than Westbrook.

I agree with Wall. He’s definitely overrated. It’s debatable that the Wizards were better without him.

I don’t think a healthy Kyrie is overrated. He was the best player on the number one team in the east for a while, and then he got injured (or reinjured) and they fell. While you can attribute it to coaching, I think he is better than Westbrook. He did a lot more with a lot less around him and in less games.

Embiid has a chance to creep into that top 5 with Simmons in a few years. Philly will be scary health cooperating of course.

Overrated Wall & Westbrook. Hate saying Wall, even as a KU fan I'm a big Wall fan. He still can flip that. Westbrook unreal stats but doesbt produce wins.

Answer has been the same for a decade, Dwight Howard.

Tremendous athlete, yet amazingly unskilled basketball player, and locker room cancer.

Who the heck still thinks Dwight Howard is any good?

....I have to agree on Westbrook. Just seems like there’s something missing in terms of either leadership, intangibles...something. Just doesn’t have that “it” factor the great ones have.

I don’t think anyone really thinks he’s good anymore. I’d agree as a Laker it was him, but I haven’t heard anyone calling him a great center in quite a few years.

Nobody thinks highly of Dwight anymore though, so he doesnt apply to this list

I don’t believe Wall is overrated at all. Chris Paul has won natta for a long period of time but is revered as one of the best point guards there is.

Yeah, I agree with both.

I agree with Lebron, Harden, Durant, and AD as top five. I'm not sure who my fifth would be. It would be Kawhi if healthy. Could be Giannis or KAT. I know it has become the thing to hate on Curry but when healthy he is still really good.

I’d put Curry up there. If Giannis developes a consistent jumper...good luck

Kyrie was a big part of the Cavs championship and hit a clutch 3 to win the series. He was playing pretty well this year and leading Boston to the best record in the East to start the season.

Wall had an awful year with a bunch of injuries to boot. Coming into the year you could make a case he was a top 3 point in the league. We'll see if he can have a bounce back year.

Injuries can do that. He played really well in the playoffs, so I tend to value that pretty high. Agreed it was not his or his teams finest year.

I don't understand this, Cavs minus Kyrie just eeked out a first round victory in game 7. He doesn't play a whole lot of defense if that's what you're trying to say but beyond that I think you're reaching or showing some bias.

Well, since I’m getting killed over that pick...

Y’all know that D12 still averages like 30 minutes a game and gets paid the same as Anthony Davis, right?

As long someone is paying him more than 20 million dollars a year to play basketball, he’s still impressively overrated in my book.

By that measure it should be Joakim Noah in no contest

Among other injuries, Noah had to have his entire shoulder put back together in his 30s. You don’t usually come back from that, at that age.

D12 played more games this season than Noah has in 3 years.

His contract was/is bad though.

This is the correct answer. He’s never won at any level and dirty AF on the court. Grayson got crucified for trips while Paul gets away with trying to sterilize dudes.

Jimmy Butler should definitely be in the team photo for this "award." The Bulls tried to make him the face of their franchise, smartly realized their mistake and traded him, and will be better for that. His game 5 stats against Houston were 8 points, 5 assists, and 5 rebounds...that's coming up small.

Crazy thing about Howard and his deserved perception. Is he averaged 16.6 PPG 12.5 RPG playing 30.4 MPG this season. He has also averaged a double double for every season he has played , all 14.

Throw in his many All Star awards, years leading the league in rebounds, and 3 Defensive Player of the Year honors and you'd think he'd be destined to make the HOF. Just shows how misleading records can be.

Eeked it out with the worst version of Kevin Love anyone has ever seen, along w a bunch of other bums. Just shows what a boss Bron is. Not sure it says much about Kyrie.

One thing that was shown about Kyrie was that he be replaced quite effectively by Terry Rozier in the Celtics lineup. Not saying that Rozier is as good a player, but that the dropoff hasn't spelled disaster like everyone predicted.

Overrated:
Carmelo, Issiah Thomas, Draymond Green, Kevin Love, D Cousins, Wiggins

Underrated:
DeRozan, Julius Randle, Rudy Gobert, Rubio, Steven Adams, Oladipo, Aldridge

**Yes, I watch the NBA throughout the year, every year, obviously including the playoffs.

Rozier's my dude, but the Celts need Kyrie to make some noise in the Playoffs. They barely eeked passed the Bucks. 76ers will be a tough series without Kyrie. Hopefully Terry and M. Smart will be up for the challenge.

In fairness he had a 5 year stretch in Orlando where he was legit a top 5 player in the league.

Came to say the same thing. Dwight Howard took one of the worst teams I've ever seen to the finals.

In Orlando, Dwight was a STUD. Ever since, not so much.
