There’s so much in this long thread, but I’ll be succinct. Without really knowing much about either situation, you chose to stand with Roseanne over Lamar.
If you want to call that standing with Roseanne, go ahead. I also made that comment about it being racially insensitive while giving her the benefit of the doubt. I gave an extensive reason why I was giving her the benefit of the doubt. I also later in the thread took away that benefit of the doubt when I saw where she had a history of referring to black people as apes. So I will put her as being a bigger ass than Lamar, but keep him as an ass.

I mean you were excusing Roseanne's action and then brought up Kendrick. So, are you racist?

It’s not like that at all. He jumped to defend Roseanne from the outset and say it was an oversight. She didn’t think it through. Whereas he was definitive that Lamar intentionally tried to make a point by humiliating that white girl. First, Roseanne’s comments didn’t really leave room for interpretation. 2nd, Barr has a long history of stuff like this. If you watch the Lamar incident, it is very clear it was an unfortunate situation. Lamar, nor the fan meant to cause drama and he tried to diffuse it quickly in a polite manner.
He had an agenda and got it wrong.
Why do mental gymnastics to defend Roseanne and then turn around and definitely crush Lamar without even watching the incident?

Okay, so by saying that she made her own bed, said something dumb that was so easy to say it was racist, agreeing that the right thing was done by dropping her and later recanting my suggestion that it was an insensitive joke and agreeing that it was racist is your idea of defending her? You obviously have a soft spot for Roseanne that in a thread about her, who you've shown compassion and understanding too, asked the question as to why aren't we then discussing Kendrick Lamar and trying to say HE committed a racist act far worse than hers.

Not only would it not really make sense for him to actually call up a fan purposefully to insult them or degrade them, it doesn’t seem like that was the case at all. Given that there is also no evidence at all that this was planned as a number of people have said, or that he purposefully humiliated as a number of people have said... it feels like people took twisted stances which presumed a lot about Lamar, and all without any real evidence or logic to back it up.

They do it all the time to justify and equate their own racism. They be like "yeah yeah she did it but look, someone else did something that isn't even similar but if we say it's similar enough, people will believe us."
I feel sorry for the cast & crew of the show. I still say taking a few paychecks from her would’ve been punishment enough.
