You’re dodging again Deller! You mentioned the head to head with Barnes and Cal which shouldn’t matter because the past doesn’t matter to you right? That being the case the only thing that matters is that UK won the last Game between Kentucky and Tennessee therefore Cal owns Barns. We all know why you don’t like the past and it’s because you don’t have one worth mentioning but most programs are about the name on the front of the jersey not the coach so if you wanna use Barnes and his past wins I’ll use Kentucky’s past wins over UT. It would help if you would remember the question you asked to prompt my response Scooter. You asked what made a season successful and I told you the wins vs the losses.

Just stop Deller! I’ve already explained about a successful season at UK 3 times! You mentioned Barnes and Cal and then I ask you the above question which was if the past don’t matter to you then why do you keep brining it up when it comes to Barnes?

We all know why you won’t answer me and it’s because you don’t wanna say Barnes and UT under achieved big time this year. It’s ok, everybody knows it. You probably feel a little dumb right now after flapping your gums about how your team was going to own the SEC and make a deep run in the NCAA. We all know what a successful season is for Tennessee and that’s getting at least a split with UK and making the NCAA tourney. That doesn’t cut it at UK. We do expect final fours and titles. That comes with greatness. Ask Duke, UNc and any other blue blood if making the tourney is good enough each year and see what they say. That’s the difference in UT and UK. This was suppose to be UT’s year. Best UT team ever, greatest UT coach ever. UT was gonna be a top 5 team all year, was gonna win the SEC and make their first ever final four. Huge let down.
After tonight’s game I think we may have been too harsh on Rick Barnes and Tennessee, Oregon State has been on fire since PAC-12 tournament and they may be final 4 bound if they keep playing like this.

I’ve already explained this to you Deller, Final fours and championships are the standard. That’s what UK and every other blue blood expect from their team every year. That’s why we are bluebloods. To be honest your question isn’t a simple yes or no question because like I said before it depends on the team. Just like the Kentucky team that went 38 and 1, that was a hell of a season but we came up short of our goal so yes I was disappointed because that team should have won the title with the players that we had. Just like you as a Tennessee fan should be highly disappointed in the way your team performed this year and flamed out in the NCAA tournament. With that talent and coaching that you speak so highly of finishing tied with a historically bad Kentucky team in the south eastern conference and not winning the conference tournament should embarrass you. Reaching the NCAA is great and all but if that’s the standard you’re ok with you’ll always been seen as just an average team with a fan base that’s ok making the tourney no matter how y’all do. Again, that’s weak!

A weak season at UK will never be considered successful. Let’s just say for shits and giggles this year‘s team would have somehow made the NCAA and won a couple of games. That would have been great and I would have been happy for them but this year was nothing but a huge disappointment all around and that’s giving them a couple of wins in the NCAA. I can’t answer it any more honest than what I already have, it’s all about the team we have. If you don’t get what I’m saying I don’t really know what to tell you.

If Barnes is their 'greatest coach ever', they're gonna remain stuck on having only 1 Elite 8 appearance as long as he's there.
I think we can agree that Covid hurt UK. Well, it hurt UT too. So, it is hard to be disappointed. We had some great wins like against KU in the Challenge.
I would have been disappointed if we had a losing season, but we had a winning season. So, all in all, it was a fun year.
For the reading impaired (looking at you JC) the thread is about Barnes and coaching. Barnes is 8-6 vs Cal, but at least y'all came in second. 🤣
