Me neither.
Kentucky is such an amazing program that I have to imagine the OP would be happier if he focused his own sights on UK more and less on how others see UK.
You know I'm just passing the offseason with banter. In accomplishments viewed in color? Yeah, I remember those days. Faintly. They were awhile ago.
Unc and Uk both need upgrades in the coaching department before either wins another title IMOThe conversation gets real if UNC wins #7 before UK gets #9.
Should we hire Pearl?Unc and Uk both need upgrades in the coaching department before either wins another title IMO
He would do a far better job. Cal couldn’t do at auburn what pearl has done here eitherShould we hire Pearl?
Do you think Cal would take the AU job?He would do a far better job. Cal couldn’t do at auburn what pearl has done here either
He wouldn’t be offered it. Auburn needs a coach that can actually coach players up. Not a coach that just relies on them having nba type athleticism before they arriveDo you think Cal would take the AU job?
Are you happy with Pearl? Does he fit you?He wouldn’t be offered it. Auburn needs a coach that can actually coach players up. Not a coach that just relies on them having nba type athleticism before they arrive
Absolutely. Auburn hadnt made the Tourney for 13 years prior to pearl arriving. We have won three sec titles, had four 25 win seasons, 4 tourneyappearances(would have been 5 with covid year had it been played), first ever #1 ranking. Are you happy with Pearl? Does he fit you?

An upgrade to what? This doesn’t make sense. Dean smith nor Roy Williams could win titles at auburn eitherMaybe, but we all know Auburn needs an upgrade quick because you won't see another in FF in your lifetime let alone a title.
If they cant win it, you guys are f'd.An upgrade to what? This doesn’t make sense. Dean smith nor Roy Williams could win titles at auburn either
Unlike Kentucky fans I am actually realisticIf they cant win it, you guys are f'd.
So Kansas football has just had Shitty coaches then and that’s their only issue? The fact that Auburn's had some really shitty coaches in the past doesn't make Pearl a miracle worker. It's not like we're talking about Incarnate Word here.

I feel like it’s more than just coaching. It’s about the commitment the athletics and school puts into the program also. The fanbase also. Auburn is now putting more into basketball by far than we ever have. From the high money boosters on down. It’s a waiting list now to get basketball tickets. Sold out for 8 years in a row now. Pearl worked hard when arrived in the marketing areas to gain support. When I was in school at auburn. You could walk right in and sit court side and buy a ticket at the gate.Mostly, yeah. They went 12-1 and won the Orange Bowl the last time they had a solid staff before Leipold. And Leipold has already started to turn things around dramatically after two seasons, and he inherited a complete shitshow.
It's also not an apples/apples comparison. In football, you have to recruit a lot of solid players to compete at the highest level. In basketball, you only need to land a few.

I love when people make statements of fact that can never be proven, like they are actual facts. He would do a far better job. Cal couldn’t do at auburn what pearl has done here either
And what has he done with that talent besides sweat through his suits. It's definitely not just coaching, but I think a great coach can succeed at a high level at any major conference program. And Pearl's shown that you can recruit at Auburn. He's probably had more talent than any SEC team other than Kentucky. Not to mention, in the NIL era, any school can land players if they have a few rich guys willing to contribute.
That doesn't mean that it's going to be easy to pile up final fours/titles, but that's hard to do no matter where you are.
