Remember that time when KU, Duke, and UNC were catching up to UK?

I am not sure John calipari has even been a top 20 coach since 2016.

Maybe, but we all know Auburn needs an upgrade quick because you won't see another in FF in your lifetime let alone a title.
An upgrade to what? This doesn’t make sense. Dean smith nor Roy Williams could win titles at auburn either

The fact that Auburn's had some really shitty coaches in the past doesn't make Pearl a miracle worker. It's not like we're talking about Incarnate Word here.

So Kansas football has just had Shitty coaches then and that’s their only issue?

Mostly, yeah. They went 12-1 and won the Orange Bowl the last time they had a solid staff before Leipold. And Leipold has already started to turn things around dramatically after two seasons, and he inherited a complete shitshow.

It's also not an apples/apples comparison. In football, you have to recruit a lot of solid players to compete at the highest level. In basketball, you only need to land a few.

I feel like it’s more than just coaching. It’s about the commitment the athletics and school puts into the program also. The fanbase also. Auburn is now putting more into basketball by far than we ever have. From the high money boosters on down. It’s a waiting list now to get basketball tickets. Sold out for 8 years in a row now. Pearl worked hard when arrived in the marketing areas to gain support. When I was in school at auburn. You could walk right in and sit court side and buy a ticket at the gate.

It's definitely not just coaching, but I think a great coach can succeed at a high level at any major conference program. And Pearl's shown that you can recruit at Auburn. He's probably had more talent than any SEC team other than Kentucky. Not to mention, in the NIL era, any school can land players if they have a few rich guys willing to contribute.

That doesn't mean that it's going to be easy to pile up final fours/titles, but that's hard to do no matter where you are.

And what has he done with that talent besides sweat through his suits.
