You have google. I also have friends that live in the ‘burbs.
You just spent an how bragging about Chicago / SF neighborhoods but can’t tell me what Chicago neighborhoods you consider nice? 🤣

Your question? I agree, seems a bit intrusive.
Is Louisville the worst place you lived? Tampa would be mine. Even over Memphis. Columbus w/ it's gray skies and long winters was better than both.Louisville too!
I was bragging? I don’t think so. That’s your perception. You just spent an how bragging about Chicago / SF neighborhoods but can’t tell me what Chicago neighborhoods you consider nice? 🤣
I lived in Bowling green my first semester of undergrad, and wasn’t too stoked on it.Is Louisville the worst place you lived? Tampa would be mine. Even over Memphis. Columbus w/ it's gray skies and long winters was better than both.
You could afford a luxury apartment in Lincoln Park and live comfortably? Our household income exceeds all of those medians. Swing and a miss.
How about the Marina or Cow Hollow in SF? 2 BR for 5,000 a month? Our household income exceeds all of those medians. Swing and a miss.
If we're doing small towns, I live in Yosemite, Casey Co. my senior year in HS. That was by far the worst place I lived. I really felt like I went back in time from moving from Campbellsville. Danville, Lex, Columbus from there.I lived in Bowling green my first semester of undergrad, and wasn’t too stoked on it.
I don’t think you would. Are you aware what median household income means? We make more then 50% of the households in every one of those neighborhoods (some by a good margin). That tells me we’d be comfortable living there.
I do love Louisville, as I’m from there…but wouldn’t necessarily want to move back. Maybe in retirement. If we're doing small towns, I live in Yosemite, Casey Co. my senior year in HS. My oldest friend is an engineer at a dam in Augusta. I met him in Casey Co. Dude is wild as shit, and there's no way he'd move back. We talk about. I will move back when I retire. Until then, I've followed the money.I do love Louisville, as I’m from there…but wouldn’t necessarily want to move back. Maybe in retirement.
For full scale upper class apartments and condos? The median household incomes in those neighborhoods are around $100,000 to 135,000.
Always follow the money/opportunity for upward mobility (increased salary). I’m right there with ya.My oldest friend is an engineer at a dam in Augusta. I met him in Casey Co. None of my 5 years plans included the next city. I'm coming up on living in Memphis longer than anywhere else.Always follow the money/opportunity for upward mobility (increased salary). I’m right there with ya.
This is also where you don’t understand the disparity of having a nice 1 br apartment and owning a luxury condo/apartment.The median household incomes in those neighborhoods are around $100,000 to 135,000.
In a 900 sq foot apartment in Greektown. That’s totally fine, but not what I’m talking about. Great area, meager living amenities. That’s not how it works. What it means is 50% of the households in West Loop make under $120,000. 50% of the households West Loop make over $120,000.
So we’d be able to live in West Loop comfortably.
Memphis food is amazing. BBQ is my favorite hands down. Suck if KC. I live like a poor too. I keep on saving and saving.None of my 5 years plans included the next city. I'm coming up on living in Memphis longer than anywhere else.
Hate the city. Everything about it(tourism gets old, food is still good). Stay for the money.
Also, I live like a huge poor. I barely spend anything outside of bills and food.
Music scene and food are my hobbies. Been getting in to some live plays and stuff. There's a lot of free stuff around town.Memphis food is amazing. BBQ is my favorite hands down. Suck if KC. I live like a poor too. I keep on saving and saving.
Always thought of it as NO lite. A lot of stuff to do in Memphis.Music scene and food are my hobbies. Been getting in to some live plays and stuff. There's a lot of free stuff around town.
There is for the first few years. Memphis in May has concerts, world championship bbq, and BBQ Wrestling on Beale which is always a fun time. Looking forward to it being back this year.Always thought of it as NO lite. A lot of stuff to do in Memphis.
It depends. Amazon what have you’s and Whole Foods…probably about 350-500 a month. I did just buy a new tv for the living room which was kinda pricey even with the Black Friday discount. On average how much do you all spend online a month? Amazon, Walmart, Google shopping etc.
I'm probably around 100-200.
I immediately regrated asking so I deleted. It depends. Amazon what have you’s and Whole Foods…probably about 350-500 a month.
You’d be able to save and live comfortably? Good man.Our income would have us at the 1,300 square foot 2 bedroom condo ranges in West Loop. Seems fine if I wanted to live in Chicago.
GTFO of this thread RIGHT NOW and go watch it. JFC, Lurk...
I’m sure it’s an Airbnb now. We could arrange that.I'd live in Abe Lincoln's cabin if It was warm, safe, and had internet.
Better be below 485 a month.I’m sure it’s an Airbnb now. We could arrange that.
Because we have different lifestyles and likings? You’re not making much sense. What you just said sounds miserable to me.I’m seeing 2 bedroom 1200ft condos in West Loop all around $3,000 a month. That’s about where we are at 25% income which is conservative from the 30% rule leaving me 5% to waste on DraftKings.
That’s without what I would assume would be a 5-10%ish pay increase going from Milwaukee suburbs to downtown Chicago hospitals.
Regardless that sounds miserable. Imagining the suburb houses I could score for a mortgage payment that high sounds wayyyy better than renting a damn downtown condo.
When did I say “you” were too poor? Correct me if I’m wrong, but you mentioned nurses initially.Well of course. But you started this with saying I’m too poor to comfortably live in Chicago. I don’t think that’s true.
From what he is telling me, yes.@UL_1986 do you think @hailtoyourvictor could afford to be your neighbor?
