In what way were the Conservatives vocally against him? Policy? Liberals in his state have lots of bad opinions about his policy. Sexual assault? Liberals don’t tend to be the ones to turn the other cheek about sexual assault. In fact, mounting pressure, especially from Liberals, played a large role in his resignation.

I’ve travelled in states run by Republicans. I’m not going to pretend to know everything about them but “oh this is better, this would be nice” is not a thought that comes to mind.

I think "gender equity" is probably the least of the worries regarding the Mexican workforce. Also, nobody gives a shit about Mexico just like nobody gives a shit about Pakistan and the $10 million we gave them for "gender studies".
