This reminds me of the people that move out of places they don't like (California, New York) and continue to vote for the same policies that drove them away in the first place.

fwiw, Philip’s post is mostly correct on the facts, probably wrong on the intent. Factually, the bill making its way through the Texas Legislature did remove those curriculum requirements from the language of the bill. Removing those requirements is not the primary intent of the bill, though. The requirements were removed because another governing body sets the curriculum.
That’s my understanding based on 5 minutes of Google.
