Place to put my Nonsense Thread.

We'll find you a home, my friend. Chin up.
Of the four different houses ive lived in during my life ive never once had a house key for any of them. Just a diff world when you know all your neighbors and the houses arent stacked on top of one another. But again i live in a small ass county.

I only have one and no, it sits in the window and the back half is propped up with concrete blocks on the outside of the house.

Thats actually how i found my uncle passed away from a heart attack. We hadnt seen him in 5-6 days and He had his door locked and the blinds pulled but his vehicles were home so finally i pushed the ac unit in and found him dead on the couch, his face was eggplant purple smdh. One of those things thats hard to forget, esp since he was only 54.

Im not even sure i know what window unit braces look like tbh or if ive ever seen one.

I usually just wedge a piece of wood in the window above the unit. So the window can’t slide up. Some people screw the air conditioners to the window which I find insane.

Poor people such as myself living in a house built in the 60s. Its also a basement house so that helps regulate the temperature a ton. Like i live in western ky and still havent had to put my AC unit in yet.

no heat either, just a wood burnin stove. You should see my electricity bills tho lol

I work outside, so after grinding in the sun all summer, the window unit serves me just fine. But again i have a small 2 bedroom basement house. Granted my window unit is directly over my bed in my bedroom.

i wish i did have central air and heat but id never drop the $$$$$ on upgrading my old ass house, not as long as i can run a chainsaw. Plus it woukd be a hassle bc my house originally had a flat roof, then a metal/pitched roof was added, but theres no access to the “attic crawl space” or area under the pitched roof without removong part of the roof. I know thats confusing but Theres just no access from inside my house to under the roof where all the vents and stuff would have to be ran so it would be a clusterfudge.

We had a Traine xl16c hybrid package unit put in 2 years ago. In another 3 years we will own that bitch. I just like saying the name of it. Works amazingly.

Check that. It was 3 years ago and in 2 years we'll own that bitch.

It’s 90 outside and 66 in my house. I could never give it up. Would’ve never bought a house without central air.

So a piece of shit wanted for homicide shoots at a cop in Minneapolis (shithole) and is shot dead. Now they're burning and looting again. I say all law enforcement leave the city and let them peacefully burn it down. It's just property after all.

Keep in mind our summer days are usually like 70-75. 80 is hot here. 90 is scorching.

What 66 feels like to me is probably what like 73 feels like to you or something.
On really hot days, our AC is at 73. Mainly keep it at 77. 77 outside in the sun is a different kind of 77 inside from the AC.

So people were yelling “let’s go brooksy!” at Bryson today. Bryson and his caddie would point them out and have them escorted out by police. Now Brooks just released a video telling people who got kicked out to DM Michelob Ultra and the first 50 people who do will get a free case of beer 😂

Keep my house at 70 in the summer and 64 ish in the winter. I would love to keep it cooler in the summer but my unit would literally be running the entire day and night

Not poor. Just other priorities ahead of paying thousands for something I’d use 3 months out of the year.

I can’t imagine letting my wife talk me into buying a house that doesn’t have it.

What three months? Looks like it’s touching 90 New York this weekend. Loving my central air in this weather.

June, July, August. Central air isn’t rare here but it’s not common either. My wife and I bought the house a year ago. If we had added central air to the ‘must have’ list, we’d either still be looking for a house right now or we’d have a lot less square footage.

Who the **** uses window units instead of central air?
Bud, I really do enjoy reading your posts, but this one is very ignorant, to think everybody could afford central A/C. 🤣 🤣
And yes I do, but grew up with no A/C at home and school. 💪

We are staying the night at my sisters apartment in Chicago and I have a fan blowing straight at me to try and maintain some level of comfort. Can’t even use a blanket. I like setting my central air cold enough to where when I go to bed I need to cover up with the comforter.
