One "blue blood" makes it to the Sweet Sixteen.

Quite possibly the worst year in the history of the four major blue bloods, Kentucky/Kansas/UNC/Duke. The combined winning percentage of 56.5% is the lowest in 92 years! They weren't really blue blood status back then, of course. The funny thing about the combined losses, is Duke & Kansas both had to drop out of their conference tournaments. Likely two more losses there. And if it were a normal season, Duke probably would have gone to the NIT and lost another one. Very easily could have been 50 combined losses, even with a shortened season.

I have a project for you. I have the KP ratings from the start of each tournament, so we can see what the largest improvements have been during the tournament.

You have the KP pre-tournament ratings? I myself don't know where to find that. I keep meaning to take screen shots; I always seem to forget. You can see the how the overall ranking has changed, but to my knowledge you can't track the adjusted efficiency margins over time.

After the tourney is over, KenPom posts links to pre and post tourney. Here is 2020:

And it's UCLA who had to play their way into the tournament. Holy shit. One tournament win between Kansas, unc, Kentucky and Duke. Strange year gonna strange year.

UCLA is the Grand-Daddy of all the Blue-Bloods!
As an 11 seed, they followed the humbled path to success.

The Pac12 is looking outstanding with 4 teams in the Sweet-16:
UCLA, Oregon St, USC, & Oregon!

Have you heard of the wayback machine? Archive.gov

You can pick a date in the past and it'll pull up a cached version of the website on that date. So just pick the date after selection Sunday each year when no games are being played.

P.S. I apologize now for taking away your next day or so.

I know there are (generally) eight football programs thought to be Blue Bloods (with Nebraska making it but in question). How many college basketball teams? Kentucky, Kansas, UCLA, UNC, Duke(?), Indiana(?), and anyone else..?UConn?

This year doesn’t count.

Real teams with real freshman studs had no practice time nor off-season conditioning program while scrub teams who have 8th year seniors who couldn’t make a team in Peru are killing it.

If you win a game with 490 people in the stands, you didn’t win shit..

We still kicked Auburn’s ass this year with true freshmen.

@dukedevilz I tell you about the wayback machine and then you somewhat disappear. You're not stuck in the past, are you?

I didn't see it earlier. When I'm away from the board for 4+ hours, I usually get quite a few notifications. Must have overlooked it. I'll mostly be with the fam today, and then watch the games tonight. I'll take a look at it tomorrow.

My post was tongue in check for those in the back but a win in OT and and another single digit win without our best players both times isn’t an asswhoppin, but I digress.

Actually pulling for y’all and hope you win tomorrow.

Crazy how Arkansas is stilldancing with their freshmen, or Suggs at Gonzaga didnt seems to miss a beat despite covid. Mobley at USC as well.

If you cut down the nets, get a trophy, and a diamond covered ring, you most definitely won something. Idk who your team is but if they were still playing I doubt you would have the same mindset.

Was definitely tongue in cheek as mentioned above but using Gonzaga is a pretty bad example when they are one of the most experienced teams in the nation....
