***Official Transfer Thread***

Louisville lose our two recruits from NC. Pettiford and Van something but they were our two lowest rated anyways so doubt unc would be interested.

I think love is gone for sure. I'd expect the nba but he was always a duke fan and they allow transfers in conference now...

There's a reason why K never offered. High turnover rate, poor shooting. What's not to love about Love?

He looked like an All-American against Duke. So, he'll always have those two games to remember, at least.

Probably everyone is if the program wants them. They are the best team in the country right now because too many people have let them get gutted by one and dones.

Sounds like he will be committing to Gonzaga pretty soon. Also hints that Timme might go pro.

Timme isn’t a senior????? Jfc he looks 30. Stash don’t help I suppose.

Nvm forgot about the free year.

What about the big black guy with blond hair and weird last name? For Gonzaga? Did he leave bello or ballo. Thought he was in line to be the next great big at Gonzaga.

He should be back. Don't think he would start over Kessler, Holmgren, or Watson, however.

He led Mali to the U-19 championship game. He was on the All-Tournament team alongside his Gonzaga teammate, Joel Ayayi, as well as Tyrese Haliburton (Iowa State) and Reggie Perry (Miss. State). Not sure what's happened over the past two seasons, but he hasn't been progressing as I would have expected. Might just need more reps.

Ya, I definitely think the Gonzaga fans over hyped Ballo. I definitely did. But the kid is really young and it's gonna take another year or two to get him where he needs to be.

So, Chet Holmgren and Walker Kessler is your projected 4 & 5 for next season?
That's what it looks like right now. Surprised that Timme would go pro. The dude doesn't have the athleticism or shooting range that he needs for the NBA yet.

If you watched the Oklahoma game, he looked really slow defending in the pick and roll. His defense is by far Gonzaga's biggest weak spot. It really worries me against Oregon or USC.

Nope only a Sophomore. And he is only starting because Philip Petrusev left for Europe, and he is gonna be a first round pick this year. Just imagine if he had stayed!!

Yea I remember that big dude last year. He wasn’t a senior either, damn that is insane to think about.

You guys really need to quit stealing the best white players in the country. That's been our schtick for decades.

I think Holmgren will be better than Kessler next year in terms of perimeter skills. His shot was pretty bad. I absolutely hate his form. However inside he could be awesome. I think he would fit in well at Gonzaga in that Timme roll. He would have played that role at UNC as well though so who knows.

He seemed like a feast or famine type guy.

probably a lot to due with unc insane frontcoirt depth. He must have not played a lot early bc I was shocked at the low averages.

He balled out on us, but so did everyone else on the team so hard to judge much from that gang rape

It is all just weird. He knew when he committed the depth UNC had. He talked like he understood all of that. Now he is upset that he isn't outside bombing threes and playing the perimeter.

I think both sides are reasonable though. I think him wanting to be used like Luke Maye was in UNC's offense is his goal. I think Roy using him this year down low makes sense. He was an absolutely terrible shooter who struggled to do everything most of the time so Roy having him not take what were clearly 'bad shots' was his job as a coach. I think next year he would have pretty much been able to do what he wants though, which is why it doesn't really make sense. Maybe he simply doesn't like it at UNC though. It's been a strange year for all.

I also think Covid and the social isolation has really impacted a lot of people mentally all over college basketball. I don't think any of it was much fun for a lot of people. I can't imagine being that age and having to live life the way they did this year. Therefore, if you didn't enjoy it for whatever reason a reasonable option is to simply want a different experience somewhere else.

Who else are we worried about leaving? If the rest stay, we still have a chance to be pretty good. Day’Ron is the key imo. The guards should get better.

Sharpe gone now. Wonder who is next? Bacot? Love? Will Brooks leave? Hmmmmmmm.

Brakefield is gone.
bwaaaaahhhhhhhhaaaaaaa. Sorry, no matter how much you want it to, there is no comparison with those two. Brakefield knows Griffin and Banchero are coming in next year so his PT will be minimal. You just lost two starters and freshman big men.

We all knew Sharpe was going. Not worried about duke next year and who is the other starter we aside from Brooks?

Brakefield is a tough loss. Super talented. Biggest transfer loss since Gbinije (2012) or Ojeleye (2014), IMO. He could easily be a double-digit scorer wherever he goes. Don't think he would have started here an he probably knows that. Very likely would have been the first forward off the bench, possibly in the range of 15-20 minutes a night. He obviously wants a larger role, so I can't blame him for seeking that opportunity.

So you lose 3 big men in a supposed big man focused offense and you arent concerned. With Griffin and Banchero added to this Duke team, they will be formidable. But you never know. That is why the play the games. Transfer season isnt over yet. And neither is NBA declaration season.

Damn, I agree with you. We may have more defections but a lot of players will be switching teams.

Sees the writing on the wall with the two big guys coming in next year. Maybe Hurt is staying. I really like his game. Versatile.

I don't expect Hurt to come back. Don't think he'll improve his stock much. Probably a 2nd round pick whenever he goes. I'm hopeful that Williams will be back, at least. He and Banchero would be a formidable frontcourt. They probably merit a good 55-60 minutes at the 4/5 spots. Obviously their presence would leave little room for Brakefield to get on the court.

If we land Keels and keep everyone else, we'll have a loaded team. Should be a top 5 team. Should is the key word, of course.

"Should". You just never know in todays game.

As far as UNC having a lot of potential defectors, I think they'll be fine. There will be more talent in the transfer portal this season than we've ever seen. And if I'm not mistaken, everyone will be immediately eligible. I bet UNC could easily snag 2 high-quality transfers, if needed.

The rumor is Brooks may come back, I sure hope not.
