***Official Champions Classic Thread***

If Cooper Flagg gets hurt, it looks like Duke would have some problems.

The CBS Sports Classic is more aligned with actual championship programs.
1. UCLA - 11
2. UK - 8
3. UNC - 6

The only team that doesn't fit is Ohio State (1 natty). Replace them with UConn and it would be the actual Champions classic.
It must suck to be UConn fan and left out of Champions Classic and Sports Classic.

Indiana is even more irrelevant than Michigan State lmao. San Francisco won a couple titles, might as well invite them.
You clearly don't know much about Indiana. But hey, you got the Purdue trolls fired up.

It is great to see KY fans spending so much time and energy telling anyone who will listen...just how much they don't care about IU

Duke would have problems in the same way that any team would have problems losing a top 3 pick. That said, if we’re delving into this hypothetical, I think Duke is equipped to handle it well enough.

Are we suppose to care about IU? Am I missing something? Don’t get me wrong I loved the UK/IU rivalry back in the 90’s but IU hasn’t been IU since the early 90’s. I know yall had a final four in the early 2000’s but that’s about it right?

The rivalry renews next season I believe now that Calislimey is out of the picture.

I won't speak for you but the reaction from Ky fans is always telling.

No, we really don't give a shit about IU. Seriously, why would we care about IU?
I guess if we were playing IU in a game, sure, but if you look at our schedule, IU is the least of our worries.

So yeah, we really aren't thinking about Indiana basketball.

Dukes big going down and cramping really changed that game. When he was out Duke had to stop overplaying so much outside the 3 point line and it also opened up driving lanes. I’m not sure who is more important to Duke, Flagg or Maluach

Now work on it.

My profile is open. You are free to search how many times I posted about IU.

Maluach going down definitely helped. Flagg is the best player and more important on offense, but on defense it's reversed. They are pedestrian if he's not in the game.

Yea I’m aware it renews next season and I’m glad but I’m having a hard time understanding why you think UK fans are obsessed with IU? I guess I’m asking what have yall done in the last 30 years for anybody to be obsessed about??? I’m being serious as can be when I ask that.

IU hasn't done much by comparison. No argument from me. Which always puzzels me why Ky fans spend so much time and efforet trying to convine IU fans and apparently themselves that IU doesn't matter to them.

Before Cal ran from the series following the buzzer loss as #1 in TAH with a likely loss coming the next season at rupp...Ky was always the top rival for myself and most IU fans. The border war vs a peer national program. And I know many many Ky fans felt the same, although they work so very hard to deny that now (which to me screams that they want the rivalry back)

To a lesser extent you had UL and other SEC teams and IU had Purdue and other BIG teams, but there was no comparison.. Those on campus games were amazing and the 40K arena seats with 54% crimson and 46% blue were national events. I can understand why an 18-20 year old student at Ky or Indiana might not get it.

I am not embarassed to admit it...I really enjoyed the games and the border war and am thrilled it is coming back. The states of IN and KY deserve it, the game of basketball deserves it.

You’re acting like UK fans sought IU fans (you) out to talk smack. That's not what happens on this site.

What consistently happens, is you (in particular) continue to come out of nowhere and accuse UK fans of being obsessed with IU.

All we're doing right now is correcting your false statements. It’s so weird, you just come out of nowhere with this stuff, then point the finger at us. This is the only time any of us even think about IU.

Did you ever think that just maybe IU really doesn’t matter to UK fans? I could see your point if IU had won titles and made final fours all these years but the truth is they haven’t done anything so again I’m having a hard time understanding why anybody (UK, Purdue or anybody) would be obsessed with IU. The rivalry use to be great but sometime in the 90’s IU just went down hill and the game lost its luster. I actually think the UK/IU rivalry back then was even better that Duke/UNc but when IU went down hill so did the rivalry. I can be 100% honest with you and tel you that I really don’t care anything about IU. I miss the days the rivalry was good and I hope it gets back to that but IU never crosses my mind. As far as Cal running if that’s what you wanna think go for it. Y’all beat us on a last second shot and stormed the court (IU storming the court is embarrassing and should never happen) and then we put yall out of the NCAA tourney and won the title. It’s almost like you’re wanting UK fans to be obsessed with IU and it makes you mad because we aren’t.

Michigan State has been our biggest rival for the last 10-15 years. There have been heated recruiting battles, bad blood in games and the B1G has largely gone through one of those two programs for a big chunk of that time. I'm sure that will subside when the whiny elf Izzo retires but for now, they are still it.

Yea, but ya'll are gonna have to get better. Otherwise we can't justify playin your sorry asses. If ya'll don't step up your game, we might have to replace you with an upper tier mid major program.
