*Official* B1G Off-season Thread

You guys are in for a rude awakening. Iowa is loaded and Gilligan will break down and buy a new computer.
there is a difference between being loaded with 4* players and having a loaded team with experience, Iowa returns their top 9 players.

this season nobody has to play out of position.
Nunge can play the 4/5 vs playing the 3
Dailey can play the 2/3 vs playing the 1
Baer will be the 6th man again as he is not a starter
Wieskamp will be the starter at the 3

Jok scored 7 points per game as a SO vs 16 ppg as a JR
Uthoff came into his own as a RSJR.
this years team will have a RSSR in Baer to provide that SR Leadership that was missing
Connor will provide the missing backup PG that they desperately needed last season
Bohannon is fully healthy

the only one that is questionable is Garza who had surgery to remove a 10 lb cyst 9 lbs was fluids.

the question is their defense and how will they do if they actually do what they are taught in practice.

the best thing is Fran has the players that if someone is not doing what they are supposed to do he can make seat on the bench and let someone else play.

Isn't Mathew Hurt going there? That's an awfully crowded frontcourt if that's the case. McCormack is a multi-year player. De Sousa could stay several years. Lawsons, Azubuike, Lightfoot. Thoughts @KisteK

Hurt hasn't committed and apparently is taking things very slow. Likely will be a spring signee.

Are you good enough to lose to us by less than 16?

i know he hasn't committed but everything ive read says he's going to kansas

Still a long, long way to go there. With Nnaji deciding in the fall and Hurt being a spring signee I doubt the potential of Hurt going to Kansas in the spring hurts (no pun intended) their chances.

i know. im talking about nnaji. I dont see much of an opportunity early on for nnaji if hurt went there, which it looks like he will

Dedric Lawson will be gone after this season. De Sousa stinks to high heaven, so I wouldn't be surprised to see him bail after this season as well.

I would go with Kansas and Arizona as the likely destinations currently.

Just my opinion that Kansas wouldn't be a good option if he wanted to play a big role in frosh season. Arizona would probably be a better option for him but I don't know their roster as well

We're just going off what we've been told, especially at the time of the Kansas offer. Now things could and do change especially over time but that was kind of a big deal when he received the Kansas offer.

MSU Midnight Madness this Saturday. Looks like Official Visits for TJD, Malik Hall, and Keion Brooks. Rocket Watts (commit) won't be there as he will be at the USA Basketball camp... which Brooks is skipping to go to MSU?

I’ll let ya know how I feel about that after chat tonight.

Don't think there is anything to worry about. I was more surprised when Brooks said he was going to the camp instead of the official with TJD. I want to say its a lock these two go to the same school. They are certainly tied at the hip when it comes to the official visits. Not sure I have ever seen two players go on three official visits together.

Brooks is still going to the camp this weekend. FYI

I really like Zeke, but there's no way Kansas can Zeke, Hurt and JRE for 2019..
McCormack, Lightfoot, DeSousa and KLawson could potentially still be in town.

Dok will go. DLaw will too.. I tend to think KJ will leave with Dedric.
Chandler'll end up at Memphis with Penny.

Kansas'll prob strike out on all three
Robinson-Earl, Iowa (obviously)
Hurt, Arizona
Zeke, Purdue

Underwood apparently is a real schmuck. Sorry @Jaycg15 hopefully your next hire is better.
An Indiana fan that thinks a coach that isn't easy to get along with can't succeed. That's a good one.

What's next the Ohio State fan that tells me coaches can't cover up abuse? A Penn State fan that tells me coaches can't cover up child molestation? An MSU fan that tells me.. you get it.

Don’t shoot the messenger. This isn’t 1971 and Underwood isn’t even close to the hall of fame coaching talent Knight was.

You don’t find it a tad bit troubling he isn’t closing on in-state talent? He is in his honeymoon phase and already in-state players are saying they’d never play for the guy

Not going to MSU at all?

Nothing is scheduled for MSU. Sounds like it will be a “battle” for his final official beteeen Purdue and Michigan State with the other getting an unofficial, since both are close.

I like IUs position right now but with UNC and UK still with officials coming you never know.
