iu
It was us or just retiring from basketball, which was the thought he would do. Struggled with mental issues. But yeah, not like he turned down the NBA.

We’re going with the IU in the top of the league again next year?
Always! I think IU will be a lot better next year, but I don’t know about top of the league; that’s a big jump for a lot of the same guys plus freshmen. I think Michigan is the favorite, and I think there are a lot of good teams below them who either will look a lot different after transfers or have guys who could either make huge jumps or disappoint as go-to guys. On that last point, Melendez and Hawkins are examples for us. If they improve off of their play at the end of the year, we could be contenders for the conference yet again, even without Kofi … if they can’t shoulder the spotlight, we will experience a lot of hiccups as the freshmen try to adjust. Personally, I’d put my bet on Illinois being much better in 2023-24 than this coming year, assuming no impact transfers. We learned with Michigan this year that relying on stud freshmen is precarious.

We'll all just have to **** around and find out. I'd call it wide open at this point. Like most years.

If we return the 3 potential nba guys, i am still not buying into this team unless they find a way to get a legit guard or wing. Entering the season with collins, bufkin and mcdaniels is a potential disaster.

He’s really happy you guys got the next Nick Ward😉
Nick Ward had a wacky career with us. He was the reason we made the tournament his freshman year and then his injury which allowed Xavier Tillman to start was the reason we made the Final Four

Agree.

Need someone to leave or move to Walk On to make room. Guard play/depth cost us this year…. Substitute Jones and Brooks for a True Frosh and that’s just scary. Don’t care how talented the front court is or how many great players are leaving the league.

If Bufkin leaves we need at least 2 guards.

Solid add for Ben Johnson. Not a big-time scorer but great distributer who plays good defense. Also had more blocks last season than anyone on our roster lol.

Yep if we end up with the three back, jace and glenn on schollie and no new guards, that will be the biggest failure of juwan yet. That would atrocious roster management.

I can’t blame Kofi for leaving after the year he had, it’ll help his draft stock for sure. I just don’t think he’s going to have a great NBA career with how much the league has changed. Most of the big men now have a mid range shot or close to it. Kofi seemed kinda weak when he got a few feet away from the basket. But, he’s a beast on the boards with his size

Realistically speaking he is going to be niche bench big at best in the NBA, unless he loses 15-20 pounds.

His midrange jumper actually isn’t bad, but there is no reason to take em in college when he could get layups and dunks at such a high clip.

I’m hoping the bulls take him second round, to get Illinois to Bulls pipeline going. But I don’t see him getting drafted
