***Official B1G In-Season Thread***

Tell their opponents to stop making every garbage contested shot they throw up and for the refs to not be bullied by all the crying coaches that whined about Iowa's uptempo style and ability to feed Garza, which is unguardable unless teams are allowed to be waaaaay more physical than what the rules of basketball are actually suppose to allow (true story btw).

Yes, coaches complained to the Big Ten about refs calling fouls for being physical in order to guard Iowa's scorers/Garza. That did actually happen.

Oh well. If that's what it takes for you guys to beat us, it makes me feel better. :)

Figured Iowa would go for a 3 and the win. And if they had Bohannon I bet they do but they don’t so Garza was probably the right call

So Luka can be a bull in a china shop but defenders can’t touch the crystalline Garza?

We will lose in the tournament because we are offensively challenged. Iowa will lose because of their defense. Luckily every team has warts. I could see a first round exit or a sweet sixteen from either team.
Defense and inability to box out.

We have given up way too many offensive rebounds in our last several losses. The difference in the games we've won down the stretch is that we were either able to force turnovers (Minnesota) or just outshot our opponent (Ohio State). If we allow teams to crash the boards and get 3rd and 4th chances, it usually comes back to bite us and forces Iowa to play from behind more often than not.

Btw, I'm not all that mad about this loss because it's on the road against a team knowing they need to play March hero ball to win, and we didn't fold when we got down. It sucks that this is gonna be what this year's Iowa team is from here on out, but at least they are fighting, and can be competitive in any game WITHOUT relying on throwing up garbage step-back contested March hero ball shots.

I think Wisconsin will be really good next year. So many seniors. They might be the favorites, as well as Iowa, OSU, and MSU.
Big 10 next year could be better/tougher. Aside from the teams you mentioned----you can include Indiana, UM, MD, as well....IU should return everyone but Green and Davis. Nice class with Leal, Galloway and Lander.

Big 10 will be stupid good again...

We’ve got some incoming freshman that will probably see some time too. Next year is going to be another war in the B1G.

The rest of the roster is meh. Bench really bad
the best players are out with injuries.
JBo healthy Evelyn gets very little playing time
Nunge healthy Pemsl very little playing time
can't blame that on Fran. because NOBODY can for see injuries and plan accordingly.

they finished 11-9 in conference play just as I predicted which better than most Hawk fans as they were predicting 4 BT wins after Nunge went down and the loss to DePaul. then Jordan went out with his 2nd hip surgery then it was Iowa would be lucky to win 10 total games. now after all that they go 20-11 and 11-9, there was no fade.

they just got so beat up they are running on fumes right now.

this is why having these coming back healthy will be key next year.
6'1 JBo replaces Evelyn
7'0 Nunge replaces Kriener
6'9 Patrick replaces Till
a upgrade at all three positions. it is going to be fun watching

Naaaah....I've been around to long, brother. I know your style. Even though you may have been "fishing", deep down, you believe what you wrote....Laughing
That was directed at you. I know that post triggered you, and it doesn't matter if I believe it or not. It doesn't matter if you believe it or not. That's what actually happened.

You- "Okay, pal, whatever......"

Well, I mean.....your skeptical ass is over here being skeptical, so what do you want me to say. *old school Rivals shrugs shoulders emoticon*

But really though, deal with it. :)

Yeah, it doesn't seem any team loses that much, unless there are some unexpected early entries.

I feel pretty good about my team. We could be elite if Tillman comes back. 2 top 75 recruits, and Joey Hauser will become eligible. There also seems to be a chance Langford will try and play next year, which seemed very unlikely when he first got injured. I think we could use a grad transfer on the wing/guard though, which it seems like we'll go after.
