***Official B1G In-Season Thread***

After a day of being annoyed at a missed FT, congrats Rutgers. That sucked.

So did the premie rivals site lose most of its members immediately after the peegs defection?

There was a mass exodus a few years ago when the switch happened. The Rivals board has gone through multiple changes but still has an active community. I don’t know numbers but I’d say 247 has quite a few more members than rivals overall. Pretty sure Peegs is one if the not the most active sites for 247.

Not sure Archie deserves any more credit than Crean at this point

It’s night and day.

16-17-19 wins each year during the regular season. Each season has gone from no postseason, to NIT, to most likely NCAA tournament.

There is visible improvement in stats and numbers each year. The improvement isn’t happening “fast enough” for some. I totally understand frustration but anyone wanting to change this up again right this second after another year of numbers looking better is not smart. IU fans needs who want a change need to take a look in the mirror.

Tom Crean get the **** out of here

He’s fleeced you for 9 years. What have you won? Nothing. Iowa AD seems fine with mediocrity. Christ Ferentz is still there, 8-4 season after 8-4 season.
Fleeced. not even close, the previous 11 years before he took over they had done this
3 NCAAT with just 1 win.
last 3 seasons Lick won just 15 BT games
Alrord gave a sex offender a 2nd chance only to see him do it again. with this the Fan base started to deteriorate.
under Lick the fan base totally collapsed
3 total .500 or better BT record

since Fran took over he has done this.
9 years 4 NCAAT trips and 3 wins
best season was 25 season good for a T for 2nd
3rd best win total by 4 year starters in Iowa's history
2 3rd place finishes
in 9 seasons 6 .500 or better BT seasons dbl what happened in the previous 11 seasons.
ranked 3rd as the highest National ranking
produced 1 FR AA and 1 2nd team AA
4 1st Team all BT players
1 2nd team all BT player
1 3rd team all BT player
yet to be seen where Garza ends up nationally and in the BT as far as the BT post season awards go.

Now add in the 5 before that.
this is after Kirk replaced 7 coaches, these are the new coaches now
OC/TE Brian Ferentz
RB Foster
WR Copeland
OL Polasek
DL Bell
LB Wallace
ST Woods
rehired QB Ken O'Keefe
retained DC/DC Parker and he replaced Phil Parker as the DC [no relation]

the new hires are opening up states for recruits where they either didn't get a player or a rare player once in a while.

states like
Alabama
Missippippi
Georgia
California
the recruiting for the last 5 classes after 3 straight in the 50's
42nd
40th
40th
41st
35th
not bad for a overhauled staff.

Yeah it’s hard for me to listen to people who with takes that make no sense. I understand being concerned about Archie but the Tom Crean take is an awful one, along with the Alford takes.

Ok, so that gets him to an average of just over 8 wins a year over 10 years... Same for the last 20 year average. That's the same as Penn State and Michigan. Wisconsin has averaged 9 wins per year over that same time. You're saying Iowa could/should do better than those schools?

9.4 wps with a overhauled staff. 47 wins in a 5 year period one of the best in the FBS.

also that 2012 season of a 4-8 season skews the avg.
Iowa has had a 10 win season and 9 wins season to show that that 4 win season was a fluke
Iowa has only had 3 regular season of losing records
1 win in the 1st season
3 wins in the 2nd season
4 win season in the 2012 season

those 3 seasons skew the numbers out of 20 seasons.
to date
1 12 win season
2 11 win seasons
3 10 win season
2 9 win seasons
8 out 20 seasons with 9 or more wins,
4 8 win seasons
2 7 win seasons
2 6 win seasons

thats the first half of the year where we flat out looked coaches, tons of mental errors and awful playing rotations

They don’t call him 8-4 Kirk for nothing.

I kinda want to see Maryland lose just to see @bMORE607 ’s reaction.
Probably would have been this
