Unfortunately it looks like they don't want to pick two guys from the same conference. If this were football though, the SEC would have two on that list.
There are 12 B1G teams ahead of UNI on kempom, so yeah, they would be bottom tier according to that algo.
I agree with your general sentiment but tre Jones is the undeserving person on the Cousy list. Malachi Flynn would be able to hold his own in a power 6 conference. He’s an exception to that notion. He already averaged 15 a game at Washington state.
Winston and Simpson both have similar or better numbers thank Flynn and have played the #2 and #10 toughest schedules. Flynn? 109th.
Iowa already played in the dirties win with Purdue. their plan was to be as physical as they wanted with no worries about the Refs.
It’s not like SDSU is this random team though. He’s getting a bump because he’s the leader of a 1 loss team that is going to be a 1 seed. He has a better assist to turnover ratio than both Winston and Simpson. He’s not undeserving. The big ten is obviously a better league than the mwc, but it’s disingenuous to insinuate he’s only there because they want representation from smaller conferences. He more than stayed afloat in the pac 12, he’s not a fraud
