***Official B1G In-Season Thread***

Possible bid thievery already. #5 SDSU down 3 to Air Force in the 2nd half in what is likely a 1 bid league if SDSU wins the tournament championship.

Utah State is squarely on the bubble as well from the Mountain West.

SDSU has gone the way of Nevada last year. Began folding under the pressure late in the year.

Couple updates to the chart from earlier.

Wins at home are only quad 1 when it’s against top 30 teams
I listed the away games. and road wins count for more and goes up to 75. if my memory is correct Nuetral site game goes to 50.
these were on the road and Neutral site.
#47 @ Minnesota
#50 Neutral site Cincinnati
#66 @ Syracuse

You don’t have the slightest clue at what the committee is looking at this year. You don’t even know what qualifies as a quad 1 win. Just sit back and enjoy hearing Iowa called.
explain to me just what EXACLTLY ARE QUAD 1 WINS.

On Peegs Snow just said, "Purdue, for all intents and purposes, is now out on Kaufman, meaning Louisville and Xavier would be the main competition for the Hoosiers, though Kaufman is insisting he is open to more options than just the local ones."

Interesting.

Random thing but snows arrogance and condescending tone gets tiresome. He also completely whiffs on a lot of stuff.

My response to that would be name a recruiting analyst who puts stuff out there and doesn't whiff a lot. He does pretty damn well with the Indiana kids.

Its a fun but shitty job having to talk recruiting all of the time and get new "sources" with the good kids in your area.

Depaul and Nebraska are both quad 3 losses, I believe.
said them but until you posted the breakdown I was not sure which is why I posted their ranking of #83, thought that they might be just a quad 2 loss.
DePaul had such a nice start as they Beat TT and Minnesota as well.
at the time that was just Iowa's 2nd game vs DePaul's 4th game. Iowa starting lineup looked like this
Garza
Nunge playing just his 2nd game since March of 2018 after RS'ing the 18-19 season
Wieskamp
RSFR Fredrick
RSSO Connor

not much of a excuse but at that time there were 2 new starters in place of Cook and Moss.

Depaul had really good OOC play and then fell off the map in conference play.

yes it was a very disappointing conference showing from them after such a solid OOC. they are/were a young team. would like a rematch this season Iowa will be the road team in the Gavitt Games of the BE/BT Challenge.

Is a double bye even a good thing? I’d rather beat up some schmuck team for an extra win for seeding

Ah ok. Thought Cinn was a home game.

I mean you likely avoid a bad team therefore you can’t get another bad loss. Also means you’re playing a good team so a loss doesn’t hurt much and a win can obviously help. Also it’s easier to win 3 games in 3 days for the BIG title than it is 4 games in 4 days. So yes, good thing

nope but in the future scheduling I would like to see more games like this one. Barta and Fran have stated that they want to upgrade the schedule.

but scheduling the better teams is not that easy, every good team wants that win for their own record. this is why I keep hoping that they will get invited to the Maui Classic where all 4 games are against top teams. ie no 250 or worse like there is in the Las Vegas Invitational [this year 2 of those 300 teams were scheduled by the LV Invitational.

is there still the preseason NIT Tournament? if so I would love for Iowa to play in that.

next season these are locked in
ACC/BT Challenge
BE/BT Challenge Gavitt Games
ISU vs Iowa dictated by the Iowa BOR

that leaves 8 OOC games of which 4 will be in a preseason Tourney, leaving 4 OOC games to find willing to play Iowa. not so easy as some try to make it out to be.

teams that I would like them to schedule
Creighton right next door they get a few Iowa kids and are a regular in the NCAAT
Kansas another team close by
Missouri
there are others but these are my top 3.

Rather staying home than being seeded 8/9.
This is Gil level of gilling.
how do you figure? this season with all the injuries yes I would not get upset if they lost their 1st BTT game then have their 1st NCAAT Game on Friday so they can get healthy and rested.

there are certain times to not do so well and others when the more games the better. for example next year they should have the depth to play 3 or 4 BTT Games W/O any problems.

Refs need to STUFF it. 12 fouls and the half isn’t even half over. Let em play

Lol they’ve got 5 fouls on our bigs. We’re not allowed to play defense at all.

Ohio State is down 20 if not for these refs.
but more to the point this is on OSU's home court so don't expect any favorable calls, you will get that when you play Iowa on your home court.

hell Iowa can't even get calls on their own home court.
