He didn't think Sam was good enough. We only had 1 scholarship and needed a PG. Gard liked him. They told Sam to wait til spring but he ended up signing with Marquette in the fall. Joey was going whereever Sam was. We ended up taking two guys in the spring, Trice and Ford, as Dearring left mid year.
Bo wouldn't play the brother game though. Marquette had no problem doing so. Got them Joey H and Henry Ellenson.

that's my entire point. Wisconsin played a OOC that was just as Iowa. all BT teams play shitty teams not just Iowa.

Arizona st with 4 top 50 KP wins but 5 losses to 100+kp, 3 to 150+, one is 200+.
Florida similar record to IU but 1 100+kp loss and only 2 top 50kp wins.
Again Indiana with 6 top 50 KP wins and no 100+kp losses.
I want to rescind my support for Cassius Winston as POY after finding out that he annunciates the "s" in Illinois. Just a bridge too far for me.
We also played UVA, Marquette, Oklahoma, and NC State. 4 teams ranked higher on Kenpom than Iowa. Yore lone good non con game was ISU.

And it's still 6 patsies. You'd be better off playing 12 teams around 100 probably. Those 6 kill ya more than anything else. Limiting those is key. Crean loved loading up on those buy games.
