MSU will lose to UCLA tonight. I think we will be extremely bothered by UCLA’s size and I don’t think we can stop Brown. I think our only hope is our guards playing well.

Wilkes and Brown will both play well.

My guess is that MSU will end up 1-1 in Vegas whether it be winning tonight or tomorrow.

I agree with this.

UNC will beat Texas, so if we lose tonight I think we beat Texas, but we will definitely lose to UNC.

We should win tonight. I'll be pretty disappointed if we don't

Their starting lineup is
6’3
6’4
6’8
6’10
7’0

I think we will struggle to defend them. We are a better shooting team than them but they have much more size and to be honest, not sure Ward can defend Brown.

Edit: I think we could win, I would just take UCLA over us.

I stand corrected. Ward looks better than Brown. Still early, but up 14, I feel pretty good

Goins just went to the locker room with a knee injury. Hope he’s ok.

Really impressed today. Cash is ball player.

Some sloppy play this half by MSU. Too many fouls/ turnovers. Still up 17 though

20 point win over #17 UCLA. Feels good. I hope we beat Texas tomorrow.

Told ya we would/should win that game. We played pretty good defense overall, their wings all had a rough night. Moses Brown ouldn't move Ward off the block, and we did a good job as a team grabbing rebounds.

We moved the ball very well on offense, and absolutely shredded their zone and press. Helps when you're on from 3, but a lot of those were wide open due to collapsing their D and kicking it back out. Cash, Ward, Goins and even Ahrens all had nice passes.

I didn't get to see a ton of the Texas game but it looks like they have high potential. Roach is a big time player so we'll need to try to slow him down.

I didn’t watch the game but happy to see we showed out. Gotta do the same to Texas.

Izzo has a hell of a squad. I love the ball movement this year. Everyone seems to get involved rather than watching Bridges and JJJ.

I agree. Ward just dominated Brown. This was one of Ward’s best games as a spartan IMO. UCLA’s zone defense was just horrible. They weren’t good at it and it gave us so many open shots. We also defended Wilkes quite well.

As I said, it’s quite clear that this was UCLA’s first game against a good opponent.

Edit: Kenny Goins also with 13 rebounds against the monster height of UCLA. I was very impressed with him last night.

Texas has a ton of athletic players. Roach kid is good. Should be a very good game.

MSU’s offensive chemistry is just night and day compared to last year. Honestly, it’s more fun to watch. Definitely not as talented but they seem to work better together as a cohesive unit.

Yikes, however UCLA was gifted a slot in the preseason top 25. Back to Earth, now. Most ppl didn't even have the Bruins finishing top 2 in the Pac12.

I admit, I was wrong. UCLA isn’t a terrible team though. I think by the end of the season it I’ll end up being a good win on a neutral court.

Yep UCLA being ranked in the Top 25 was almost as big a joke as Villanova (sans their 4 best players) being ranked in the Top 10. Both teams will struggle to make the NCAAT.

UCLA definitely a bit raw and Alford is still their coach. They have a lot of talent though. Wilkes and Brown are potential NBA players, and a few of those other guys have the tools as well.

Not sure what to expect w Texas yet. Roach had an incredible game, but hopefully they are a little gassed after running w UNC.

Texas has been a terrible 3 point shooting team but last night they shot pretty well. I agree, they probably will be a bit gassed as well. Texas is a good team, with a lot of good athletes. Should be interesting.

UCLA will end up being a really good win. Youre right that they arent very good right now, but all that will matter is their end of season metrics, and I think they will win alot of games in the Pac12 which will sneak this win into a very solid win column ala how Arizona ended up a top 25 win for Purdue last year.

With their talent, I'd say this is possible. But with Alford---I'd say probably not.

UVA not playing around today. Throwing double teams early and often every time Happ touches the ball. Already 2 assists for Happ.
