Purdue not as good as I thought they’d be
I knew we would be a work in progress early and hated the schedule because it didn’t afford much time to gel. IF we can win at Texas and beat ND in Indy, I will be elated with 8-3.

Thought we could be top 35 team early with a chance at top 25 midseason if the kinks get worked out and it’s played out about as expected. Really wish we had held on against VT tho.

Sounds like Eric Curry could be back next week. Great news since it will give him a few games against cupcakes to work his way back, before the meat grinder starts.

Ground gopher first on our list. Mmmm.

As much as I poke fun at Treed, I actually think she's got a bit of a point. Edwards and Cline throw up a ton of shots. I wonder if it would be more efficient/productive if they spread things out a bit. Just seems like Edwards is forcing a lot. Granted, there are nights he makes a ton and is efficient, but that doesn't seem like the norm.

His shooting splits weren't great last night, but I actually thought CE did a better job of not forcing things last night. Part of that was that it seemed that Purdue was making a conscious effort not to make the first pass to him when initiating the offense, so that when he's getting a touch on a ball reversal or in the flow of the offense, he was attacking the defense as it was rotating rather than set early in the shot clock.

He still needs to get better at trusting guys to knock down shots when there's a collapsing defense and he's drawing a crowd, but I liked the way the offense was trending, even if the percentages weren't great. Still going to be a work in progress.

And I thought Eastern did a great job in his role last night. But I'll still take a contested 28-footer from Edwards over a wide-open, set three from Eastern. All day, every day.

I didn't get to watch any of the Purdue / Maryland game yesterday. How did it go?

Sounds like Maryland had a chance at the end to win?

purdue started out like trash, and Maryland hit a bunch of 3s early. we got it to within 4 at the half mainly due to Aaron Wheeler giving great bench minutes.

Fun second half, with leads going back and forth. We fouled Cowan up 3 with like 6 seconds to go, he made the first, then missed the second on purpose and it went out of bounds off Purdue. The inbound play had Bruno rolling to the bucket, but Haarms picked it up, triggered the entire state of Maryland + half the state of Indiana, and they inbounded it to Cowan who got his last second three blocked by Nojel.

Pretty ugly offensive game, and a win Purdue had to have.

Let's be honest, Haarms half court dance at the end of the game was pretty gay.

Yeah not to get too much into this, but if the shoe was on the other foot Purdue fans would be saying the same shit. Haarms is a clown and overreacts its easy to make fun. Similar to Thomas Bryant (who by the way has found a nice spot on the Wizards.)

Hear ya, I'm talking everyone else in general for Purdue not just Eastern. I only watched a little bit of the Maryland game, but it did look like Edwards was sharing the ball a bit more. That's the key for Purdue, IMO. As an outsider who doesn't watch every minute of their games, it seems like Edwards can get in the habbit of forcing things sometimes. Now, he's still pretty good even when he forces stuff, but not always. My comment was more a generalized comment than a specific one.
