Again, no one said IU has as much offensive firepower. I do think we are the better defensive team, and I don’t think the gaps between the two teams are big enough that we can’t win at home. I’m guessing the spread will be something like PU -3.5.
Just curious, why do you think IU is the better defensive team?

I believe we have less defensive liabilities. IT, Sasha, Trevion, Newman/Ivey (both have potential but haven’t shown it consistently) aren’t great defenders. Furst is a bit of an unknown at this point. Edey is a solid post defender, but will struggle if the opposing bigs can stretch the floor.

I was too young for faux outrage in '03. 😁

I don't think either are great, tbh. But this is a bad look for IU students, and I would say the same if it was the Paint Crew.
Do you like the 1,2,3,4 First down B*tch! Chant after every first down? You don’t find that inappropriate?

The numbers going back to last season say otherwise but I do think it’s Purdue’s biggest weakness. Think Purdue is the better rebounding team too.

I agree that Purdue is the better rebounding team.

Half of our roster is new, and we have a new staff, so I’m not sure what looking at last years numbers does.

I’m not even sure what you are arguing at this point. On paper, Purdue is the better team. That doesn’t make for an auto win at IU though.

I was also looking at this year’s numbers in addition to last year’s numbers. It’s literally all we have to go on at this point. I’m not arguing anything, just wanted to see why you thought IU was the better defensive team even though there’s been zero evidence of that.

I'd say after just a few games they may be slightly better but hard to say anything definitively with such a small sample. Purdue's offense leads to more possessions so take that into account. Would say IUs strength is defense at this point but mainly due to their offense not being nearly as strong as Purdue's.

Mostly because of your showings against Providence and Uindy.

Not surprising you would overlook them and just focus on games against cupcakes.
Why would I focus on games that don't count against Purdue's record? You're really telling me I'm supposed to glean anything from a secret scrimmage where Providence's starting center had 9(!) fouls and their entire 5 playing close to 40 minutes? You're such an odd duck.

1 scrimmage and 1 exhibition.
Are you cereal?

When you lose to a bottom tier Big East team as a top 10 team in a scrimmage, it's notable. I'm sure you think your games at home against cupcakes are more telling of where Purdue is as a team.

I mean I get it, Providence is no George Washington, but it's by far the best team Purdue has matched up against this year.
Purdue has played KenPom# 185, 186, and 122. IU has played #279, 313, and 43. Whose schedule is tougher?

And we lost to George Mason. Show some respect at least if you’re going to try and shit talk.

LOL at using Kenpom rankings this early. IU has played the only team with a pulse for either of the two teams.

Oh sorry George Washington was one of the other cupcakes Maryland almost lost to. I'm sure you can understand the confusion there.

I’d rather use KenPom then fake games to justify my argument, but then again I didn’t eat lead based paint when I was a kid.

That 6-point thrashing of Eastern Michigan must've really given you all kinds of warm and fuzzies.

If it were a trend, then it would be different. It hasn't been a trend.

I'm sure it didn't give me as much "warm and fuzzies" as the wins over Bellarmine, Wright State, and ISU gave you though.

Every year I think there is no way we’re going to top last years shit show, but here we are 3 games in and trying to say team A’s defense is better than team B’s because of results from preseason exhibition games. Gil would be having an aneurism over this shit.
Nothing worse than not checking this thread for 24 hours and then scrolling through bullshit for 10 minutes.

Maybe you should sit the next few rounds out after losing to GM.

If people here had to be suspended after losing games there would be no IU fans for long stretches of the season.
Losing games to Mid Majors? We had that in Archie's first year, but not after that I don't believe.

Maryland losing to George Mason has no correlation with your half baked argument that no sane person will agree with. You act like that shit fazes me.
Lol I'm sure it doesn't faze you. You are used to it by now. Continue on with your Purdue white knighting though.
