Of course not, we were told by a board expert all spring that Gillis was transferring. So no reason to assume a logjam at the 4.

Him being a bad shooter with that perfect form and release continues to break my brain. Makes no sense at all.
Lol you have a lot of posts you start to respond to and then don't.

Back to actual basketball news, this seems like a fairly significant loss for OSU:

Apologies in advance if this was already discussed in this thread today. I was lazer-focused on shitposting.

Discussed yesterday and yes it is significant. The hope is that Brown and Branham can grow up quickly and Towns can get back sooner than expected. Tonight will be the first road game with fans that 4 rotation guys have ever played in. Should be interesting.

I’m starting to wonder if there’s some sort of connection between the lead in the paint Trojan was spoon fed and his affinity for a man from Michigan.

It's way early but with the B1G showing some vulnerability in the non-conference (including a few head scratching losses), the SOS of the league overall may not be as good as predicted. If that continues, it will make those who scheduled soft in the non-conference have a smaller margin for error in B1G play.

I don't think it matters.. you think Gonzaga has a great league SOS? They play 3-4 games that are against top 25 teams OOC and that's their resume.

This year, their schedule is basically Texas, UCLA, Duke and Alabama.

I think it's been mentioned in previous bracket discussion from the committee about what you do with the opportunities you have rather than how many you have. Now granted if they mess up in league play then it will impact their seeding but if they win 3/4 games and run the table in their league.. likely a 1 seed.

Gonzaga actually had as many Quad 1 victories last year as Baylor.

Also, the WCC isn't that bad this year. Currently 4 teams in the top 50. That's 8 games against top 50 opponents right there (counting 2 WCC Tourney games). Don't forget about Texas Tech. So, 13/32 games are top 50 matchups (40.6%). 12 of the 18 WCC games are against top 100 opponents.

Yes, it obviously isn't as challenging as the Big Ten or Big 12. But given they're playing against small Jesuit schools, it's about as good as a schedule as they could hope for. I personally think they lose at least 1 WCC game this year.

Agree, I was simply trying to make a point that committee has said in the past that going 5/6 in quad 1 for example is viewed better than going 10/20 even though 10 > 5. Again, just what you do with the opportunities you have rather than the sheer volume of opportunities.

I'm thinking more along the lines of a team that goes 8-3 in the non-conference and then 10-10 in B1G play and loses early in the BTT. If the league was kicking ass like last year, that team is probably dancing. But if it continues to struggle, they may be on the outside looking in.

There will be 7 or 8 teams in from the Big Ten depending on if Rutgers makes it.

I usually get irritated when some uses "millenial" as a pejorative against me. So being called a boomer is downright triggering.

Well done, asshole.
My favorite is the people who discuss participation trophies in reference to millennials. I always think back to a comedy skit I saw where the comedian- whose name I can’t recall- said something along the lines of “How is a parent giving me a participation trophy my fault? Did a bunch of 9 year olds scheme some parents into giving them trophies?” His skit was actually funny, but I can’t do it justice.

So true. "Yes, you're right - my generation does suck. Thank you for making us this way."

I never thought about that haha. Good point.

I think the current new grad generation whatever it’s called gets too much heat. We’ve had alot of all star students come through internships and hired some damn good employees lately. Way easier to supervise than older employees I’ve worked alongside in the past.

Has Lander played more like a 5* or 2*? 247 was way off.
More like an asterisk----BUT----again, as I have said---kid never should have reclassed. In the long haul, its probably gonna help; gave him experience at the college level. So far this year, last night more so, he looked a ton more comfortable. Made some nice decisions(with the ball). Unfortunate for him, Indiana's back court is a log jam: Bates, Johnson, Geronimo, Stewart and Phin.

Saw the kid multiple times in HS, worked two of their games....He's a legit talent. 5*? Probably not. But certainly a mid, to maybe high level 4*.

The current education system is a joke. Give me older employees all day long.

To be honest, I think the majority of the population sucks, regardless of age.

True. There are pikers at every age range. They are just easier to pick out when they are older. You can tell they suck by their resume.
