Wait....Now injuries count? In basketball last year we were told that shouldn’t matter.

Weird your stance changes. LOL

It counts when you lose your best players. For IU, losing Hunter was a big deal. Not having a fully healthy McRoberts? Not so much.

Do we really need to rehash the injuries IU had versus the ones Purdue has had? Don’t think that’ll turn out the way you’d like it to.
Sure. Go ahead. Break it down for us.

Romeo Langford - Lottery pick - Shooting hand thumb injury and back injury
Jerome Hunter - Top 50 recruit - out for season
Rob Phinese - Starting PG out for numerous games
Race Thompson - Top 100 recruit out for majority of season

IU guys, who else am I missing?

What does that have to do with what we said in the summer?
This summer? Wut? You and other Purdue fans have already been using the injuries excuse over the last few weeks when Purdue has been dump trucked. Well, you tried to use the injury excuse except you all lost to, wait for it, Nevada, when you were fully healthy. Not sure you would have won any of these other games even if you were healthy. Me thinks Brohm is just under achieving.

I’m guessing you missed Btown’s post.

Yeah, don’t worry about Romeo Langford’s injury to his shooting hand or his back injury. Or what about Rob Phinisee? Those probably don’t count, huh. Race Thompson? Yeah, not a big deal.

Have you missed a Michigan game yet this year?
I was at the Northwestern-MSU game when they played Wisconsin. I watched bits and pieces of the Rutgers and MTSU games, but nit all of them. I did watch this one and the Army game though.

I don’t think Morgan missed any games last year.
Just admit it man. You didn’t cut IU any slack. You haven’t cut Miller any slack. We were riddled with injuries last year and you just disregarded them for the most part. Now all of a sudden, injuries are a HUGE deal. Lulz. Purdue fan gonna Purdue fan...

RP missed what, 3 games? Romeo wasn’t fully healthy but at least he still played/started in 32 games and was still a hell of a player for you guys. Race Thompson is a complete wildcard. I’ll give you losing Hunter for sure.

Purdue is 1-4. Not sure any Purdue fans ITT thought that was even a possibility. Brohm better get it turned around next year. Don’t want his seat to get warm.

When Michigan got boat raced by Wisconsin I didn’t come here and remind all of you how shitty your programs were. It would’ve been a bad time for a Michigan fan to talk shit and I can recognize that.

This, OTOH, is a bad time for a Purdue fan to be talking shit about football.
Once again, do you disagree with anything I said? Also, did I start the nonsense or was I responding to troll attempts by IU fans?

Its not any ONE injury. It’s the constant injuries we had to overcome last year. Over have our roster sat out a game at one point or another. It had a huge impact on our team. And when you consider we missed the tourney by roughly one additional win, the impact is amplified.

Yup. If Brohm doesn’t improve next year does his seat get somewhat warm?

Not even a little. He’ll get at least the chance to bring in at least 4 or 5 recruiting classes.

You give SNU handjobs on a daily basis here

Cosmickid is one of the worst posters here. Klize was on my ignore list all summer. I like SNU but if you think I go out of my way to make excuses for Indiana you’re stupid. I shit on them quite often.

Why? You guys are cool with a 1-4 record? You guys are cool with winning 3 or 4 games in year two? That’s a far cry from the 8 you were expecting.

A few comments for the trolls (stunned that it's Snu and Hail).

  • I said I thought Purdue would be a bowl team this year if they could avoid injuries to key players.
    • Not only did they not, but it's been comically bad. It can easily be argued that Purdue's 5 best players coming into the season didn't even suit up today.
  • Saying Purdue fans say injuries don't count is some serious hyperbole. Of course they have an impact
    • That said, I firmly believe that IU had more than enough talent left that they never should have lost 12 out of 13 games during that stretch last year. I think the lone win being over eventual Big Ten champ and Final Four participant MSU is some pretty damn clear evidence of that.
  • Football is very different than basketball in that it's hard to build a successful program quickly, especially when Brohm's predecessor was the worst coach in Purdue history

(Whispers) Purdue has more than enough talent left to not lose to Nevada or Minnesota at home. Not to mention not getting dump trucked by TCU and Penn State.

Basketball is different than football in that you only have 13 scholarship spots so multiple injuries to rotation players can be crippling. So the whole “let’s compare who had more injuries” isn’t really apples to apples.

The fact is Indiana had a season where they suffered a lot of injuries and you guys gave them no leeway for it.

I’m interested to see what Purdue fans man up and admit this. My guess is none of them.

So either injuries matter and they admit they were being douche bags all basketball season or Brohm sucks way more than they were hoping.

Year 2? Lol. I’m not happy with a 1-4 record but I also realize it’s mostly injury-specific (yes I know Nevada isn’t because of injury lol). We have an extremely talented freshmen class with another near-top 25 one on the way. Besides, what’s the alternative? Brohm brought us back from complete irrelevance. He’ll get time to get it right.

You guys is an interesting term there. Care to provide examples of "us guys" and how representative that is of the Purdue fan base? Because my recollection is it was 2-3 trolls and the other 8-10 that post here recognized but didn't give a full pass (as IU fans shouldn't).

He brought you back? You’re 1-4. You’re not back. Lol. More delusions.

Nevada was on the coaches and they recognized it (as did we). Minnesota was absolutely a gross lack of talent defensively (with the only 2 future NFL players on that side out injured) combined with our top two offensive players being knocked out in the first quarter.

Idk you are all alike to me and I’m watching Gladiator right now so no.

Pretty clear you are recollecting wrong. That’s not what happened. The overwhelming majority of Purdue fans gave us zero leeway all season.

How big is a football roster?
