@klize17 & @IUBtown - Snow's notebook today mentions that IU is in great shape with Leal and Galloway. You guys good if we pick up both these guys? I think I'd be happy.

Also, he mentioned we're in great shape with Lander. Said Louisville and Kansas didn't even send an assistant to watch and UNC had an assistant there for a game. Sounds more and more like the TJD recruitment. Hoping it turns out the same. He's a huge must get, IMO. Gotta love 5* multi-year guards!

I’m ok with it. I continue to say keep building with 4 year guys. Once you have that base when you do get those high end guys that only stay a year or two it matters a little more. Romeo didn’t come into the best of situations. Lander and Kaufman would be nice.

I think Purdue will be better too (obviously) but I wouldn’t go as far to say no chance IU is better.
After MSU and maybe even OSU or Maryland, it’s pretty tough to be certain of anything with the next tier of teams.

Really like what I’m hearing about TJD and Franklin. Maybe even more excited about Franklin and his ability to knock down shots. If he can come off the bench, not turn over the ball and knock down an occasional open jumper, that would be huge for us.

I would take that as well, we need shooters and Leal looks like the real deal. I've also seen Lander play and he can really score, we just need to add a big in there and maybe a wing that can shoot.

I’d even leave at after MSU it’s pretty wide open besides a select few teams that obviously don’t have the talent.

I wouldn’t argue against that. Think that’s fair, too. I’m seriously starting to think Illinois might be a dark horse top four/five type team.

MSU commit Jalen Terry won the Nike EYBL Most Improved Player. He averaged 19.1 points, 5.6 assists, and 4.5 rebounds a game. He completely shattered his 2018 numbers.

Yeah. I could see Illinois finishing anywhere from 3rd to 11th.
If we're 11th with the talent we have on this roster, the Underwood experiment will have been a total failure. With his offensive prowess, I think the floor is 9th (and that would be bad), but his defense still has a lot to prove.

Should be a telling year for what caliber of coach Underwood is going to be. He’s certainly going to have talent.
I'd say Underwood has shown that he's a capable coach. Made the tourney his first 3 seasons at SFA, and then came into OK St and flipped that team into a tourney team. He's good enough to get teams to the tournament. Is he good enough to make us an upper tier B10 team, or will he be a Fran McCaffery and float at the bottom of the top tier and sink to the top of the bottom tier is the question.

I think this might be the year for Illinois, they improved a lot last year even though it didn't show up in their actual record. Ayo is a flat out stud as well.

Everyone is sucking the Illini off. God knows they need a winner in either of the major sports.

It will be an interesting season.

I'm not sold on Underwood but I'd certainly have more trust in him than Lovie if I were an Illini fan. That hire was really fvcking strange.

I predict this year Illinois is the B1Gs overhyped team. They had a good stretch of games last year when a few teams were struggling but they were still a 12 win team and lost 6 of their last 8 games by an avg of 14+ pts. They'll be a middle of the pack team which they haven't been in some time.

You are just saying that because they are your rival

I think 11th speaks more to the potential to the rest of the Big Ten. Only Northwestern and Nebraska project to be terrible.

Rutgers looks like they will be improved. Penn State is a question mark but has some talented pieces (if Watkins can stay out of jail). Minnesota lost a lot but still have some talented pieces. Iowa gets grief here but actually does have some interesting pieces. IU should be better (the had better or Archie ass will be on fire). I think Purdue, Wisconsin and Michigan get some measure of the benefit of the doubt and all have some talent. Maryland and OSU should be pretty good. F Sparty.

I don't see us being worse than the first 4 teams you mentioned.

Rutgers lost Omoruyi and didn't bring anyone in. Iowa was their best win in the B10.

Penn St lost Bolton and their stud defender Josh Reaves. I do think Curtis Jones is a good pickup. I like their team enough to think they could be better than us.

Minnesota has no backcourt. I expect them to finish in the 10-14 range. Pitino's last season, imo.

Iowa was in so many 50/50 games with a superior squad last season that I expect step back with the injuries and loss of Cook and Moss.

IU is a guessing game.

I think Michigan has the bones to be good, but until I see Juwan coach in cbb, he doesn't get the benefit of the doubt but his players do.

Talent-wise Illinois should make the tournament without a doubt. We'll see if the team on paper is as good as the team on the court.

All of love Illinois is getting. It hurts to be the ugly stepchild in the B10 doesn't it? Is ok bb.

You are better than this. You guys have sucked dick in sports for as long as I can remember. I can't remember the last time you guys were good at anything. And I am serious.

It is amazing they've only had one double digit win conference record in the past 10 years.

No i'm just guessing. I saw Illinois hadn't finished in the top 4 since 2011 so figured those two teams are around that level.
That's how you think that rivalries are developed?
Ho Lee Shit!!!! RollLaugh
You've had 6 in the past 26 seasons and went through a stretch of 1 in 17 years. You're Iowa. You can't talk shit.

And now we're getting our dicks sucked.

Also, we're good at pretty much every sport except the two main ones right now. Elite in some of them. Don't think we ever will be in football, but basketball could happen.

Missouri is probably the closest thing. We don't really have a traditional rival. The Big Ten is trying to push NW, but it's not a competitive rivalry in either sport. I think you'll get different answers depending on who you ask and where they reside in the state.

I would say our BB rivals are:

Iowa St
Wisconsin
Illinois
Minnesota

Coming on lately Maryland and Nebraska
