I'd say it is about even on who needs it more.
Sweet. They should play every year anyway. Game will be between two teams with some talent but that haven't really looked great. Bacot versus that dude for UK who rebounds like crazy should be fun.
Is Bacot going to be eligible for the women's team next year? His transition almost looks complete.
Glad to see they got this done. I’d say it’s about equal, but losing might be telling as to how low either team has become.
As much as I love UK and UNC playing, and think it should happen every year, I think this could potentially be worse for both teams. Each lose an opportunity to play a pretty sure fire tournament team who will likely be a good seed and replace it with an opponent where that is not guaranteed. UNC beats UCLA and it’s huge for their resume come end of year, but a loss isn’t necessarily damaging. Same for Kentucky and Ohio State. A win versus either now could look really good down the road or it could be very me’h, and a loss could potentially hurt. Basically just not sold on either teams’ prospects for the year.

This heavyweight clash is going to have a huge impact on NIT seeding so I can't wait to see it.
Think Kentucky needs it worse given UNC is in a transition year and Lexington would get chaotic with a loss. I feel like UK will steamroll them, though.

Not really familiar with any of the UNc players besides the big guy down low, the Love kid and I wanna say the Leak kid is still there. Either way if UK plays like they did against ND we will get waxed. I just hope it becomes one of those classic UK/UNc games!!! Should be fun.

Don’t feel great about this game. We should be shooting close to 40 percent as a team from three with the guys we have. Maybe even better. Hope the slump doesn’t continue, but I’ve seen no evidence it’s going anywhere.
Our defense has a way of busting other teams’ slumps.
I do think that part of the reason really good shooters don’t always excel at Kentucky is because of the offense that Cal runs. There don’t seem to be a lot of sets run to get shooters good shots. But I could be off on that.
No, you're right. They don't do much of anything on offense, other than run the weave at the top of the key until the shot clock runs out.
