NBA playoffs 2023

Jimmy Butler with 56 and 42 in back to back games to eliminate the top seeded Bucks.

Giannis 10-23 from the free throw line in a 2pt overtime loss in an elim game. At home no less. Ooof…

Heat 4-1. What a shocker.

Yeah, what Jimmy is doing right now is pretty wild. All with Herro hurt too.

looks like the Heat are actually better without Herro. Same might be said for the Hawks without DeJuante Murray.

Better for a few games isn’t the same as better through June. Playoffs are a grind, man. You gotta have some depth and different guys who can step up once you get into the con finals and finals.

that's one way to look at it. Other way is to say the teams are just better without those guys and wouldn't be where they were if they were playing. Scalli was saying on NBA radio this morning how the Heat look so much better offensively wihtout Herro out there pounding the ball.

As for the Hawks, there's no doubt that Trae is better without Murray out there stealing touches from him. And if Trae is better the Hawks are better. Also DJM's defense has been greatly overrated. He gets steals cause he cheats and worse of all he can't stay in front of his man. Team looked much better with playoffBogi starting last game as opposed to DJM.

Any rings? Legends usually have a couple.
oh I didn't realize you were the great arbiter on what is needed to reach legend status.

You could've just skipped the rings qualifier and listed an age requirement instead since nobody leads their team to rings before the age of 25. Magic won a couple, but he was also with a couple HOF teammates. Bird, no. MJ, no. Kobe did, but he wasn't even the best player on his team. Lebron, no. Steph, no.

Flailing. lmfao

I’ll admit to not having watched much of the Hawks this season prior to playoffs. But I do know that defenders who rack up “showtime stats” like steals, but do it in a way that’s not within the concept of the team D, are very very bad for a defense. You just have no clue whether they will be on their responsibility or not.

The legend known as Trae Young has returned.

not sure what you're laughing at. The guy had a great series and single handed made it competitive for a play in team vs the team picked to win it all by many. Kept the Hawks in the game last night with a dominant first half. Then he got gassed and front rimmed everything in the 2nd half.

He showed once again why he is without a doubt one of the top 10-15 players in the league. Put him with some actually good players and he'll be winning titles for sure. The future is very bright for Mr. Young.

Lakers skull ****ed the grizz last night to win that series. What LeBron is doing at his age is truly impressive. Dillon Brooks to the shanghai sharks after this series.

Memphis talked a lot of shit only to go home immediately. Tough scene. I know injuries fvcked them, but cmon. Looking forward to G7 tomorrow. Hope Fox/the Kings can take it.

Curry is one of the very best to ever do it. I'm not sure there's a player who's had a bigger impact on the sport this century.

watching the NBA playoffs and the NHL playoffs side by side it's become crystal clear that the NHL has as much better product these days. Like it's not even close.

nope. Skipped the first game cause Embiid wasn't playing and I usually refuse to watch NBA games if a star is not playing. Skipped the second game cause i don't do sports that start after 8:00 central time.

Spent the night watching game 7 Rangers vs Devils.

NHL >>>> NBA these days.
You missed epic Harden and Jokic games.

I can't imagine anyone watching the NBA Playoffs right now and think that another sport is better based on what we've seen. You have 30 guys that can seemingly go for 40 on any night.

These NHL playoffs have been awful imo. Bruins and Avalanche looked like absolute garbage and one team is the best regular season team of all time and the other are defending champs. Parity for the sake of parity sucks, we have literally no idea what's going to happen in that sport. The marketing for NHL stars suck and you literally have no idea who these guys are unless you're plugged in. The commentators are bland too.

don't agree with any of that except the part about Boston and Colorado sucking. One is the defending champ and the other hasn't had to play a meaningful game in 2 months Both of those scenarios scream upset.

Other than those two series it has not been parity for parity's sake. 6 of the top 8 teams in the league are still standing. NBA had more upsets than the NHL. Lakers, GSW, Miami. And I don't agree that top seeds losing somhow means the playoffs aren't as good. Don't agree with that at all.

The first round of the NHL was lightyears better than the NBA this year. 3 game 7s speak for themselves. More OT games than I can count.

Hec, even Charles Barkley agrees with me and he's paid to watch NBA games.

I want to see the best teams play each other and for the later rounds to be as entertaining as possible.

Warriors losing to the Kings and the Grizzlies losing to the Lakers weren't upsets at all. Both the Warriors/Lakers dealt with injuries throughout the year and the Lakers added key pieces at the trade deadline. The Kings and Grizzlies are good but they're not experienced enough.

Now we get to see Warriors/Lakers this round. Can any NHL series top that? You have 5 future HOFers playing along with 2 of the 10 greatest players of all time.

In Round 2 we have:

Lakers/Warriors
Suns/Nuggets
Celtics/76ers
Knicks/Heat

There are compelling storylines in each of these matchups. NHL is only worth tuning into if you have a regional rooting interest, are just obsessed with the sport or for gambling.

These NBA playoffs can get the attention of casuals like the NHL simply can't.

well if your arguing that NBA is more popular than NHL you'll get no fight from me.

But you can't talk out one side your mouth and say the NHL had a lot of upsets and then speak out the other side of your mouth and give excuses for why there were even more upsets in the NBA. That's weak sauce. I could do the same thing for the NHL. Bruins had key injuries the first 4 games of that series. Avalanche also had key injuries that lasted the entire first round.

I don't agree that the NBA matchups are any more compelling than the NHL matchups. That's all subjective. I could just as easily claim there are compelling story lines in all the NHL matchups.

I didn’t watch the game. i’m just scrolling box scores. How did Golden State lose a game that they hit 21 3’s in?

They fouled the Lakers incessantly giving them a massive FT edge and Anthony Davis dominated the Warriors inside posting the first 30/20 game by a Lakers players since Shaq.

He made them look stupid, they have no one that can deal with him. Love seeing it, couldn't happen to a worse bunch of tools.

are you watching this @UL_1986
Been watching it all brother. This has been the best playoff I’ve seen in years. Lakers/GS series is gonna be so good. I think the warriors win tonight, but the Lakers seem to be firing on all cylinders. Super impressed with Austin Reeves, and if AD can stay healthy and play like he did the other night, anything is possible.

Reaves is arguably the 3rd best player on the Lakers. He's the greatest college to pro success story I can remember where the player was not spectacular in college and played all 5 years.
This. Dude is a perfect piece to play alongside LeBron.
