Temple is 5th in all time wins in basketball. Most don’t consider them one of the top 10 teams of all time.
That is a you issue. There are four major sports in America: football, basketball, baseball, and hockey. You can't just pick and choose to make an argument. In college sports it is basketball and football. That's it. You guys have the upper hand in the biggest one so that's what you should go with.

Those two are football and basketball. In basketball Texas isn't close to UNC. In football UNC isn't close to Texas. Both athletic programs are fantastic. The # of kids who play hockey here in Houston is very low. The ones who do play are here because of the oil industry and the people coming down from Alberta.
Tried to give you an out. Just take it. In America there are four major sports profesionally. In college there are two. You can't change that just because you want to. Again, it doesn't work that way. We can create and argue differences to chop off one or more but it just doesn't work that way. There are people in every state who play golf at a high level but we aren't including that. You need baseball for this super dumb argument. It just doesn't count in college though.

No idea when they play hockey either. That isn't relevant though. Spring baseball isn't a major college sport. It just isn't. I mean, I kind of enjoy college baseball during the college world series I guess but not really. I will watch only if UNC is playing. I only really truly enjoy MLB and I absolutely love the sport of baseball. College baseball just doesn't register as a major college sport.
