You got any proof of that?Bill Self is just as guilty in this as SDS is. The hypocrisy is ridiculous.
Seems like you are missing a key part of Gassnolas testimony under oath....SDS is done. Doesn't even matter if Kansas knew, which all indications are that Bill Self was aware. I am not sure how the player gets punished in this scenario, but not the head coach.
Bill Self, Kansas Were Aware of Adidas' Role in Silvio De Sousa's Recruitment
Gassnola testified he agreed to provide De Sousa's guardian, Fenny Falmagne, $20,000 to help guide him to Kansas and "get out from under" a payment already in place to send the forward to Maryland. He also testified he paid $90,000 to Billy Preston's mother before he also ended up at Kansas.
Schlabach included a number of the text messages the defense attorneys presented in his report, including one from Townsend to Gassnola revealing Self talked to Falmagne.
Schlabach also passed along the following exchange that occurred three days before Kansas announced its 12-year, $191 million extension with Adidas:
"Self responded: 'I'm happy with Adidas. Just got to get a couple real guys.'
"Gassnola replied: 'In my mind, it's KU, bill self. Everyone else fall into line. Too [expletive] bad. That's what's right for Adidas basketball. And I know I am RIGHT. The more you win, have lottery pics [sic] and you happy. That's how it should work in my mind.'"
Anyone could see this coming. SDS won't at another game for KU more than likely. Can't risk vacating a season with a loaded roster like this.
Seems like you are missing a key part of Gassnolas testimony under oath....
Probably. Can you fill in the gap? I haven't followed all of this so I'm not even sure which team to pull for (prosecution or defense). No idea what the downstream effects are.Seems like you are missing a key part of Gassnolas testimony under oath....
Cliff AlexanderDoes he get Preston's old seat on the bench?
Yeahhhh, I don't know if that's a good way to handle this. If you don't want games to get vacated, you better sit the kid. Especially in KU's case, they are extremely deep at that position.I wouldnt hold out anyone (unless they absolutely know things can be traced). All this stuff is so hard to prove, let the NCAA move like molasses. This is all unprecedented
Asked by the government why he concealed the payments to the families of the five players, Gassnola said, “I didn’t want people to find out.”Probably. Can you fill in the gap? Do all the kids mentioned in the trial get sat?Yeahhhh, I don't know if that's a good way to handle this. If you don't want games to get vacated you better sit the kid. Especially in KU's case, they are extremely deep at that position.

Yeah thats true. I just think this trial is far from the kind of proof that the NCAA would need and they move soo slow. Things could be quite different by the time punishment would be handed downThey should. Especially right now during the garbage games.
Do all the kids mentioned in the trial get sat?
I think the schools and players involved should probably be re-vetted by the schools and turnover their findings to the ncaa to insure they are good to go---which I'm sure every school has/is doing. Thats their only responsibility and if the ncaa gives them the go ahead----then play ball.No shot. Zion played last night. Zona flipped the NCAA off last year and continued to play Ayton. What makes you think everyone mentioned would be sat?
Well I was just asking the question. No shot. Zion played last night. Zona flipped the NCAA off last year and continued to play Ayton. What makes you think everyone mentioned would be sat?
Well I was just asking the question.
Zona knew the ESPN article got basically everything wrong
I am excited to watch him and he is a phenom. And I’m guessing Duke has vetted the Zion situation extensively. There’s a reason UK, UNC etc went all out for Zion until the very end.
The only information out there now is Zions stepdad SUPPOSEDLY asked for extra benefits. There is zero evidence they received any illegal benefits and as we’ve seen the last couple weeks folks in America are still innocent until proven guilty.
I’m glad Zion is at Duke. He’s an absolute phenom.
I am excited to watch him and he is a phenom.
But isnt all this trial stuff "supposedly" for everyone? Im not trying to instigate either, I know you guys have followed this closer than I have.
Agreed, and I already said no one should be sat.If I’m not mistaken there is no actual evidence, text messages, wire taps etc to show Zions stepdad asking or receiving anything extra. It’s all second/third/ fourth hand. Meaning it’s hearsay and wouldn’t stand a chance in court.
If Duke plays Zion and I do comes out that his stepdad did in fact take extra benefits then I’ll accept the consequences the program gets handed down. But to sit a kid because he said she said with no tangible evidence is absurd.
sounds kinda like the stuff kansas is being grilled about, does it not?If I’m not mistaken there is no actual evidence, text messages, wire taps etc to show Zions stepdad asking or receiving anything extra. I don't think they were allowed and Self wasn't recorded on wire tap to my knowledge---they attempted to, but they didn't. Gassnola was the main contact and the guy had everything to gain by saying self or staff knew under oath---but still didn't. Code was the one telling our assistant what Zion wanted (and code is a guy that desperately needs people to believe coaches and staffs knew---so he avoids jail time.) Our assistant said we need to find some way to get him here---which could mean finding the job and finding housing---but never specifically mentioned the monetary demands. That wont fly for penalties for zion or kansas in my mind.Well there are text messages and wire taps that were introducers into evidence if I’m not mistaken. Show that DeSousa did in fact receive impermissible benefits. No?
I think the $2500 was somewhat provable---but nothing else.Well there are text messages and wire taps that were introducers into evidence if I’m not mistaken. Show that DeSousa did in fact receive impermissible benefits. No?

I'm not leaning that way yet. Kansas and the NCAA knew of issues---what exact issues, i don't know---before he was cleared last season. KS played him based off the ncaa's approval and it looks like once they have learned additional info regarding impermissible benefits, they will sit him again---just like they have a pattern of sitting any player when something like this comes up. If the school does everything by the book and always reports what they know and always follows the ncaa's advice--what do you do.You’re referring strictly to Zion. I’d agree that nothing comes of it.
DeSousa is a different issue. I think last seasons FF comes down and he never plays at ku again just my opinion.

In the court of law....... wire taps and evidence are taking into account with more belief than a testimony during the trial. Why? because during a wire tap people dont know they are being tapped........ during a trial... people have time to make up lies.
