LMAO----

Watching IU lose to Pepperdine by 20 in the NCAAT. This reporter, through one game, can tell it wasn't fun playing for Knight.Laughing What did he expect? They were getting their asses whooped.

I know I'm in the minority, but I wouldn't have a problem playing for knight. I wouldn't let him touch me tho.

I can understand if you take things personally, you might not like playing for him.

That ones a classic if it’s him wiping his ass telling them that’s how they’re playing. Known that one for a while. Not watching the ESPN whine machine
Yeah....Nothing knew here. They certainly went out of their way to crucify Indiana with this.

Can we just say Knight wanted to win?

Sorry your feelings were hurt. We hurt each other all the time.

Really good piece. What a great coach. But he is a do as I say, not as I do kind of guy.
It’s one thing to not want to go back to IU, but to say you wish all the hierarchy are dead? That’s a man not playing with a full deck. As brilliant of a basketball mind as he is, he’s probably even more crazy.

Does the military still smack kids around?

Culture changed in the late 20th century..
I was in the military from 1992-1997. You weren't allowed to 'smack kids around' then. I'm guessing you mean in basic training. The way drill instructors got around the whole can't physically assault the trainees was to as the soldier was standing there at attention with rifle in front of their face, the instructor would come up and 'fix' the position of the rifle.....usually resulting in them smacking the barrel of the rifle of the forehead of the screwup.

My brother was at Parris Island in '88. Smacking around was commonplace. He talked about how he learned to swim. Fail, get out, be motivated, get back in and go.

Is it bad to say, a lot of kids, need smacking around, paddled, foot in the ass, etc?

One of my best friends were raised by a single guy. My friend smarted off, and his dad lifted him off the ground with a boot in the ass. I saw it. This was 30 years ago, and my friend hasn't smart mouth to his dad since.

Borden do you think Knight ever visits IU again?

Not Borden but nope.

He has spoken at Bloomington South High School in the past five years and didn’t come to campus. He had his son Tim accept his Indiana Athletic Hall of Fame induction.

Yeah it did- it would be like that UNC tutor getting death threats from UNC fans about their scandal couple of years ago.
Wonder how it would've turned out for that tutor had , I dunno, UNC been found guilty. Had to forfeit a few titles...hundreds of wins, etc, etc... Something tells me a death threat may have found its way to him.

I think the piece hit its mark. The ending especially. It is sad that Reed has since passed. SO i do find it a tad uncomfortable to talk "bad" of him. There is no doubt Knight grabbed him. There is doubt he choked him. Is that being picky? SUre. BUT...he said choked---not grabbed. And he said two hands...Then one. Then said Knight had to be pulled off him; Weird there is no video of that. I mean, why just send the part where Knight grabs him? I dunno---maybe the battery went dead? If his time at IU was so traumatic---Why stay? And Not just one year....Or two. But he stayed 3. So I guess Knight was really nice years one and two? Also, nothing was said of this until Knight met with Reed, and told him he should transfer. After that----well, you know the story.

Not defending Knight at all. I think he has become a bitter man. I hope he can someday fins some type of peace. But this "choking" incident, to me, is just blown waaaaaay up.

Also,I LOL when they kept playing the audio of Knight cussing out his team. As if that were some big---"Wooooooooooo" moment. Sheesh, I heard worse that that from my HS coach.

There was a rumor that after he spoke at the high school in Bloomington that he took a tour in the middle of the night to see the new Cook hall. No idea if it's true, or if it's a completely made up story...but it's out there.

If I had to bet I'd say it's a made up story. I think he's so prideful that he would never let any IU official know that he was even remotely thinking about IU.

I hope that one day, he does come back, but that's about as much wishful thinking as when I hope to win the lottery.
