Is UNC a tourney team even with Anthony?

No, but last season Duke lost to UNC because the #1 pick in the draft was injured. What many are saying is, UNC will say you can't blame losses on players being hurt, but at the same time, some UNC fans are saying they didn't have Cole, which is why they lost.

I'm not saying you said that, but just a double standard with many UNC Fans.

And Duke fans, and UK fans, and KU fans, etc... There are double standards with specific individual fans everywhere. Doubt they ever read this rebuttal though.

Many of us admitted last year the game could have been different with Zion. The only point people made here was that it wasn't guaranteed to be different. You can't blame losses on injuries. You can discuss it. We discuss all sorts of things on here that aren't the same as blame.

The majority of Afam U fans do not understand the word hypocrisy. They were laughing and commenting during Dukes recent injuries the last few years. Karma is a bitch. Here's to Cole sitting out the rest of the year and the cheaters learning that OAD is not that easy.

Out 6 weeks. Couldn’t happen to a better fan base.

Ouch. We might not ever see him in a UNC uniform again. If the team is out of NCAA consideration at that point, Greg Anthony may shut him down for the rest of the year.

I wouldn’t wish injuries on my worst enemy (wonder if that’s original enough for Cory).

If he was my son, I’d shut him down for the rest of the year. Not worth it to risk his future.
Let him rest up & prepare for the NBA.
Unlike some schools, a kids future is more important than the coach trying to get wins by playing him too soon.
Roy & his father will do what’s best for HIM.

Poor Zags. They finally get a blue blood to travel out to Spokane. I'm sure they were hoping to see a game for the ages, but they're more likely to get another 82-50 game.
The fact that this small school from Spokane was able to get North Carolina to come across the country to play in their arena is nothing short of amazing. This is the most significant home game in Gonzaga's history imo.

Plus I think gonzaga fans still feel jobbed by the refs in the 2017 Championship game. They won't mind if Gonzaga is able to blow them out.

They will say that there were a lot of soft fouls called on their 3 big men. Zach Collins fouled out in 14 minutes but was a force when he was out there. He had 9 points, 7 boards and 3 blocks. Pkarnowski had 4 fouls and Jonathon Williams also had 4 fouls.

Seriously you don't remember this? There were 44 foul calls in this game.

we’ll just ignore the fact that Both teams shot 26 free throws each & were BOTH called for 22 fouls each.

It was a tough game to watch, from an entertainment perspective. Only the Butler-UConn debacle in 2011 can top it. That whistle seemed like it was blowing every 30 seconds. I felt like the Zags had one of the best interior defenses this decade. UNC's strength was inside. Gonzaga's defense, unlike most every other team that Carolina played, was actually able to compete with the UNC bigs. It was tough to see Zach Collins dominate in the first half - and then be called for questionable fouls. UNC had some ticky-tack fouls, too.

Just not an overly fun game to watch with all of the stoppages. Wish the refs were a little more liberal with the whistle like they were in 2019. Seemed like a good portion of the games in the 2019 tournament didn't even have teams in the bonus during the final minute of play. Would have liked to have seen an open game like that.

With that being said, I hope you guys straight slaughter UNC tomorrow evening.

I doubt Cole wants to shut it down when he is healthy. I don't think Cole wanted to shut it down now but the coaches made that call. I wouldn't blame him if he doesn't play in college again but he doesn't seem like that type to me.

44 fouls called in the game but you think the Zags got jobbed. It was an ugly ass game but you failed to mention UNC made plays on the offense and defensive ends of the floor to seal the victory.

Sounds like the whiny UNC fans who say the same thing about the Villanova game. They would have a much better argument than the Zags but would still be very wrong.

Hopefully, Roy takes your advice

Aht aht aht, losses can’t be blamed on injuries per UNC fans last season. UNC non injured players are still better than Wofford’s. Roy gotta develop that bench.

Not to defend the cheat heels, and i haven’t looked at their roster to see who left and came back, but wofford gave us a hell of a game in the second round last year. Some of that was us playing too conservative with a lead and taking our foot off the gas. But they’ve been a decent team the last few seasons.

Not the same team… .by a longshot. They lost Fletcher McGee and a couple of other starters. They had some dudes that will nail a high rate of threes even when you’re draped all over them.

And isn’t their coach at Virginia Tech this season, too?

Agree. Comes down to what the kid wants. If he has the confidence to think he can take the team on a tourney run, he'll be back. Of course, we have to make the tournament first.
