Today I made a Chicago style pizza from scratch.. Homemade dough and homemade sauce. 😊
Was it on par with Lou Malnatis?

More like Geno's East (Chicago). But, it is really like a place in Nashville on West end close to Vandy, "Obies" Pizza from back in the day. It took me a while to get it right, but I have mastered it now.Was it on par with Lou Malnatis?

Edit: Don't eat at Obies now, it was bought by some Indian's and they have ruined it.
Where do you live?Unfortunately, the Gino's East by my house closed. Lou's is all we have now.
Never tried making a deep dish, though. Sounds fun.
We made sushi for the first time last weekend. Turned out amazing. Super easy, too.

First of all, I thought you were in South Carolina and secondly, I didn't know Geno's and Lou's had stores anywhere other than Chicago. If you want to try your hand at Chicago Pizza I'll be happy to share how I do it.Phoenix. We have a ton of Chicago transplants here, though, so we get a lot of restaurants that only exist here outside of Chicago.

My toppings vary as to who I'm feeding. My husband likes meat, I like veggies.South Carolina is way too humid for this guy.
They didn't until Phoenix. It took Lou's years to open their first location here. They wanted to mirror the city of Chicago's water filtration, so that the dough would taste the same. Did the same with all of the ingredients. Gino's tried to rush it after they saw Lou's success and it just wasn't the same. They lasted a couple of years before closing.
Definitely share! What are your go to toppings?
Sounds like they may be authentic, we have a small Italian restaurant here that is owned by a family from New York that is Sicilian, and they make everything from scratch, dough to sauces. Best Italian food my old butt has eaten. 😎Little place in central Jersey near Trenton had the best pizza I ever had. Was called Sal’s. Everything hand tossed and most of the family spoke little English. Damn it was good. Cheese and sauce there punks anything I’ve had since moving back south.
I remember the movie that came out a couple years ago 🙂

literally learned about live aid watching the movie. I knew it was a concert for Africa but just thought it was limited to philly, not the whole world. Really good movie, well good music, movie gets a bit weird for me and I’ve been a big rami malik fan since mr Robot.
I remember Phil Collins playing at Europe’s Live Aid, hopping on the concord and then being on stage for the US gathering. Always thought that was cool.Speaking of which, how many are old enough to remember Live Aid. Talk about inspiration, there's nothing like watch the world come together and feed a section of Earth during dire times.
Probably going to go down as the most undervalued advice today. They'll see.If that ain't your still, hook to them up with go karts go faster cycles.
butchered that.If that ain't your still, hook to them up with go karts go faster cycles.
Wendy’s has the best fast food burgers and you can’t convince me otherwise.
Best fast food restaurant around me, has great burgers, fish, shrimp, andchicken, not to forget the roast beef.![]()
I will have to make another trip soon. I absolutely loved Charlotte when I was there. Cleanest big city I have ever been to. It was well kept and everyone was super friendly. Even with me wearing me Kentucky blueYou're a Panthers fan, right? Whenever you come back to North Carolina, give Cookout a try. The chain started in Greensboro. They're littered all over the state of North Carolina, just not sure if it's branched out much further than the state lines. Great burgers and they have something like 40 different shakes on the menu.

Love Culver's! Okay, so Cookout is probably #1 for me, but Culver's is a close 2nd.
It's funny. Because it's true.A bit morbid, but this quote always make me laugh.

Eastern North Carolina BBQ. Don't get tricked into western NC or South Carolina BBQ.I will have to make another trip soon. I absolutely loved Charlotte when I was there. Kentucky fan on Saturday, Panthers fan by Sunday.
I will keep Cookout in mind. I also want to try some Carolina BBQ
My dad has retired to Wilmington. I've been wanting to check out his place. Was trying to do something this summer and compare Carolina bbq to Memphis.Eastern North Carolina BBQ. Don't get tricked into western NC or South Carolina BBQ.
