If you had to replace YOUR coach now?

I second Jay Wright. I imagine that would be an adequate punishment for ruining a storybook season two years ago. Plus...**** Philly.

I'm reading a lot of comments regarding the Chris Mack to Louisville hire. Some are rival fans who are downplaying the quality of the hire, and that's fine. My feeling is simply it was a "good" hire in the current landscape of realistically available coaches. There just aren't that many coaching "stars" out there possibly available right now who would be considered a home run hire for any upper level program. I'm wondering, from the upper level programs, who they would currently target and feel they would have a realistic chance of landing, if they were currently searching to replace their head coach. Your thoughts on YOUR program?

When I look at a Bell Self replacement I think it would be another young coach who would be there for 15-25 years. It is a destination and not a waystop. I also think Self will have a lot to say about the next coach. It is quite possible that next coach could have a UNC connection due to Roy Williams. Roy bleeds UNC but also, because of his closeness to Dean Smith and coaching at KU the link between the two schools will always be there. There are really 4 schools, Duke, KU, UK, and UNC that really so deep in history that it is a lot more than just changing head coaches by bringing in a re-tread or the the current flavor flash.

Hubert is not gonna be the next coach of Carolina.

I didn't put a whole lot of thought into it, to be honest. Who would you take as your top pick? Wes Miller seems like a good up-and-coming coach with a lot of personality. But I'm certain he'll need several more solid seasons before he's even considered as a legitimate candidate.

The Loyola coach is a student of Rick Majerus, not a bad pedigree...

I think Mack was a good hire for UL.

If I had the power to pick the next coach at Kentucky I would ask Mike Pratt to go hire one.

I'm not sure Donovan ever comes back to college. He was clearly tired of the extra stuff in college basketball that he doesn't have to deal with in the league(recruiting, NCAA bs).

But, when Cal took over at UK and proceeded to whip Donovan's butt over the next 6 years there had to be part of Donovan thinking (If I was at Kentucky I could get any player I wanted). Donovan also complained about lack of support for the bball program on mutliple occasions while he was at Florida.

hell the UF fans say they sell out all the time.
