I appreciate that Noah. We couldn't slow down Eddy much less stop him. However, it was a great season and a fun team to watch. Still proud of my guys.
Wasn't really that, tbh...Ziegler just didn't play well. DK got no help. Felt Gaines should have played more. James after a great, early start, disappeared.

Yeah, it was really that. We had to play perfect to beat them and it is pretty hard to play perfect. We pretty much made the rest of Purdue's team have an off game.. Did they hit like 3 3pt shots?

Made only three, three's, yes. UT did everything needed to win....Just didn't get any help for DK.
It all comes down to not slowing down Eddy.
Been a while since we've seen a guy get so many fouls called on him while at the same time committing basically no fouls. Dude had ONE foul called on him the entire game. Was it a sketch whistle? Haven't watched a game since Florida went down lol.
Yeah, I really don't want to cry about anything. Purdue is a great team and they won and that is that. I could have guarded Eddy better than Aidoo did. I would have bitten his ankles and they may have called it, but it wouldn't have been an "and one" situation. I can promise you that.
That was a nail biter to the end. Congrats on a great season. Barnes will keep taking shots at it and make it happen. All you can ask for.

It was an unfortunate luck of the draw for us. I think UConn and Purdue are the two best teams this year. Both can get beat, but it will take an over the top performance to do it.
We had a great year hawkit. SEC champs and a pretty deep run in the dance. It's not like we got our ass kicked by a no name.
What’s amazing is we didn’t even play well. But that had a lot to do with Tennessee defense.
Obviously it helps having a cheat code in the middle.
I’m felt going into the tournament you guys were the 3rd best team. I was pissed when the bracket came out.

Honestly it's a bit nuts how UT is snakebitten when it comes to the Final Four. They've had so many great teams/players dating back to the 70's.
Teams don't pressure on officials to call fouls...No one goes at him---nor puts him PNR situations, or wehre he has to guard away from the basket. Where he fouls is rebounding...He goes through guys . But he also gets hit a ton.

Same here, I prefereed any other 2. Unfortunately, once the committee decided Purdue wasn’t going to be overall 1, the motion was all set due to geography.
Tennessee has a good defense, but it wasn't enough.
Our weakest point is interior defense, so it was bad luck to draw y'all, but thems the breaks. It not like it wasn't a battle and we could have won, but we just needed better play than we were able to provide.
It will be interesting to see the post matchup if they end up playing UCONN. I feel like all of a sudden he'll be in foul trouble. Hope they just let them play at that point.
I'm thinking it's time for mens bball to go to 4 Qs like every other basketball association.
Maybe he did, but the story was Eddy and our inability to slow him down. Maybe, we should have played a box in one.
Knecht took and missed a lot of shots. He needed to be on fire for the Vols to have a chance.
I think it is asking too much for Knecht to score 60 and not miss a shot. But, that is just me.
He might get into foul trouble---but then again, he hasn't faced anyone like Clinigan. He can actually match-up---sort of: 7'2, 285lbs.
Been the word on Tennessee all year long. Treat them as a one man team by letting DK get his and hold everybody else.
